1. Select the hood
2. Colors>Adjust>Hue/Saturation/Lightness
3. Change to black
4. Adjust brightness/contrast until it's a little darker
5. Make sure the hood is still selected
6. Bring out the paint bucket, Select a dark-grey color and the "canvas" for larger images, and "Dither" (any PCT) and fill in the hood. It should give a carbon fibre pattern.

Here's an example. :)

Agreed, that's pretty much basic carbon. the pattern is rough and the bonnet is too matt, it should be shiney. if you're gonna post a whole thread at least make the tutorial good

Are you forgetting this is Paint Shop Pro, not Photoshop...

So? It's still a bad tutorial
So, it is impossible to make carbon fibre in Paint Shop Pro as good as what you can do in Photoshop. Photoshop has heaps more options and such that Paint Shop Pro. You can't say it is a bad tutorial for something that is near impossible to do - make half decent carbon fibre in PSP.

Shannon, Im sorry, but Im gonna have to call you ignorant. So, you're ignorant. Im a big advocate for PSP. Im a professional artist, a commercial artist mind you, and every commissioned work or ad I make it is made in PSP. PSP is the same thing as PSD but in a friendlier, cheaper interface. But since it doesn't have the big name people don't put their time into it.
A carbon fiber can be achieved in PSP, but someone just needs to sit down and find the best way. I do a very clean look for it with vector layers. But of course its not realistic, its a 2D look for my art.

Anyway, don't talk about things that you obviously don't know about. Could have saved me the time to not post this reply.
