aren't they the same car?

GTSR Team Oreca ran in the GT1 class back in 1999 and 2000s

This Viper GT1 ran at LeMans in 1996 before it switched to GT2. It switched because it could not compete. In my opinion still worth a spot in GT1. In 1999 and 2000 it was the GTS class not GT1. What the hell is GTS and GT1 the same???

How could I forget the Honda NSX GT1, Nissan Skyline R33 GTR GT1 and the Toyota Supra LM GT1 on my list. How can I also forget the Nissan R391 that LMP would no doubt size up LMP900 class in Project Cars 2.

My mistake i did same research and it was the GTS-1 class, i always thought vipers didn't start to race till the team Oreca vipers.

I'd personally like to see a track pack than a car pack, sure there are heaps of tracks in the game and a lot of cars we all want, but for me we are missing quality tracks like Suzuka, Intergalos, Sebring, Macau, Istanbul Park, Kyalami.

Also since retro tracks are the rav atm, I'd love to see classic Imola, classic Bathurst and pre 2002 Nurgburgring GP. The new first sector they added in 2002 really took a lot away imo, as did changing the Veedol chicane.

Description
This is based on a graphic I saw a long time ago which highlighted what SMS wanted for Project CARS 1 and this pack adds the variety of that into the game. The update before the DLC also adds the Dirt oval to the inside of Turn 3. With the DTM license being rumoured to be available, I've added the 2018 spec cars as opposed to the older cars that were in game.

Ok, let me just shuffle some things around, now that all the previously announced DLC is out.
I'll leave the fun pack alone, that was in itself pretty, uh, fun. Even if I don't use a lot of its cars regularly.
But since I don't particularly care for Ferrari road cars (same with Porsches, but that pack was way more focused on what I like) I think we could get some valuable DLC places back that I can then populate with the race cars that just kinda overflowed into the Le Mans DLC. Which in turn leaves spaces for my precious prototypes, which is always good.
Ok.

There are some lovely car suggestions in your post, but much as I prefer classic and historic race cars, there are many people who play the game who enjoy modern road cars - apparently those cars really do help sell the game. I would be interested to see your suggestions for a second round of DLC - i.e. a 2nd Fun Pack and a 2nd Le Mans Pack etc.

I'm always working on my imaginary DLC Packs, but they normally remain in my head as I think of another while I'm driving or doing household chores etc. - I've been known to miss my turning if a great car or track has suddenly come into my head!

With the hint from @IanBell of an exciting announcement from SMS due shortly, I thought it was worth reviving this thread just in case the announcement is about a 2nd Season Pass for Project Cars 2 (which is what I dearly hope). To that end I'm sitting in my favourite café sipping a coffee, thinking about cars and tracks.

One of the things I enjoy about Project Cars is that the cars appear to have been chosen with thought and care - I'm trying to repeat that with my selections so that they fit with and build the game in the most enjoyable way. NB I have only picked cars from manufacturers which are already in the game.

Historic Essentials - Pack 1 - Expansion of Current Historic Classes
Current GTD = 1 Car
= Mercedes Benz 300 SL (1952)
Add GTD - Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster (1952) - identical performance (took first 5 places at the Nurburgring 25th Anniversary Race 1952)
New GTD = 2 Cars

Current GTC = 3 Cars = Aston Martin DBR1/300 (1959), Ferrari 250 TR (1957) DLC, Ferrari 250 GT (1961) DLC
Add GTC - Jaguar D Type - 1957 spec; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th at Le Mans
Add GTC - Chevrolet Corvette C1, 283 CI Fuel Injection (1960) Le Mans 1st in class, 8th overall
New GTC = 5 Cars

Current GTB = 3 Cars
= Ford Escort MK1 RS1600, BMW 2002 SW, Merc AMG 6.8
Add GTB - Renault 12 Gordini (1970-74) 1,585cc all alloy engine with twin Webers, 125PS stock, 5188 sold - a great front wheel drive addition to the class and competitor for the escort.
Note Merc AMG moves to a new class - GTB Endurance for iconic endurance cars
New GTB = 3 Cars

Split current GTA into 2 classes:

GTA (No lights) = 4 Cars = Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (1969), Ford Mustang (DLC), Nissan 240ZG, Jaguar E Type V12 Group 44 (DLC)
Add - Ford Mustang Boss 302 (1969-70) 5 litre V8 - 1970 Trans Am champion.
New GTA = 5 Cars

New Class = GTB Endurance (Lights) = 3 Cars = Ferrari 365 GTB/4, Porsche 911 RSR 2.8 (DLC), Merc AMG 6.8

Track 1 = Oakes Field, Nassau 4.5 miles - home of the season ending Speed Weeks for sports cars and whisper it - a much better airfield track than Sebring and much easier to get!
Track 2 = Dundrod 7.4 miles - formerly part of the WSCC and non-championship F1 (Ulster GP), a public road circuit in Northern Ireland - like a cross between Bannochbrae and Historic Spa (still used for motorcycle races, but madder than the TT as the bikes set off at once instead of at intervals). Easy to scan - just eliminate the current road markings for a period feel.

Immediately below C1 Corvette - 1960 Le Mans 8th overall and 1st in class. In the main shot Corvettes 1, 2, 3 (Cunningham Team) and 4 (Camoradi Team) battle a Ferrari 250 TR (car 11), 250 GT (car 16), Jaguar D Type (car 6) and Aston Martin DBR1/300 (car 8) - SMS could repeat this in game!

Middle picture collection - Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sports - only 5 were built, 3 coupes and 2 roadsters. An ultra light race only vehicle and major threat, the 427 Cobra was conceived to counter them. Raced by Mecom Team, Penske and George Wintersteen.

That sounds like a fun but unlikely idea.

You are right - it is probably unlikely as anything planned shortly for an announcement must have been in the planning for a long time - I never thought we would see some of the marvellous cars from the Season Pass. The ones I've suggested are probably just as iconic so may be possible at some time in the future!

I was on about a second DLC pass. I always enjoy your suggestions though.

He was probably on about something for a new franchise or PCARS Next.

Since Sick's gone for a classic look at racing for a DLC season, I've decided to go for an American style season. Expanding on IndyCar, Stock Car and IMSA content.
