Anyone any idea why you can only have 20 million at once?

Other PD setting you up nicely to get the "penniless" trophy by buying an x1 I think it's just arbitrary.

The idea seems to be that PD wanted to prevent people from gathering huge sums of credits by finding an exploit or using any other way to "beat the system". Technically 20 million credits is enough, because the most expensive cars in the game cost exactly that. The pros and cons of the credit cap are being discussed though.

A better question is why the hell to they open up the x1 shop at lvl 30 (or 35 I forget) but you can't buy one till level 40?? I guess maybe incentive to get to level 40.

You actually win one at level 35...cost you nothing. After level 40 you can buy one and pick the color you want

I think that they wanted the X1 to be one of the most hard to get cars in the game.
I think they wanted the number of GT5 players that own an X1 to the total number of GT5 players to be like 2/3.
Meaning only two thirds of the GT5 community owns an X1.

Duping has eliminated all possibilities of that happening.

Better yet, you unlock the X1 at level 30 because you unlock the Vettel challenge at level 30.

Still have to be level 40 to buy it... X1 should never been a part of the game.

No one knows but the developers. I don't have an issue with it as it saved me from doing the math to get the penniless achievement.

I was shocked when they did it in prolouge and am very disapointed they didn't correct that on this game. But I can live with it, as I have more cars than I will ever drive.

This is such old news. Isn't there something more worthwhile to beat the drum over?

Also, to the OP: Try doing a search. Like I said, this is old news just like most other complaints about GT5. That means that there have been a bunch of other threads like this, so before you start a new thread about something do a search and post in one of the older threads if you wish. If your post is worthwhile, maybe it will stir up the conversation again and breathe life into it. If it goes away again, maybe that's a good thing.

DP made lots of poor design choices. The 20-mil credit cap is just one of them.

There's always going to be people from the GTFDL to defend it, though. Stupid decisions are brilliant if you twist them around right.
