Um I played abit, but I can't abide a 'proper' game of cricket.

However I do like playing nip'n'run (If you hit the ball you have to run) with a few mates. Gets rid of the very boring defensive style you might see in test cricket, or even 1 dayers.

Yup. I played A Grade up until a few years ago. I love my cricket, though I had to stop because of Work and School commitments.

I wasn't much of a batter, Last time I checked my batting average was somewhere near 4, although I could stand and hold up an end. I came a bit of a cult hero one day when we were 7 down one day and needed 200 runs to win. I stood out there for 40 overs and scored 1 run! (I still remember it, it was a beautiful square drive to a deep point), unfortunately I ran out of partners with about 30 runs to go.

Bowling wise I was 1st or 2nd change and bowled some right-arm off spinners. I wasn't too terrible and got 5 wickets a few times, and oh so close to a hat-trick (Went between bat and pad and I can't believe it didn't clip the top of off). In my last season I developed a ball that could go the other way, albeit only about an half an inch to an inch. Got a few outside edges with it, but I don't think I could still it now.

I've started B-Grade with Glenore Grove/Lowood Cricket Club. We played yesterday at Gatton, and the wind was just outright ridiculous, it was a constant, high speed, bloody annoying westerly .
But on the bright side, my captain asked if I would like to chuck a few down, so I did. I'm a right-arm spinner, mostly leg spin, occasional off-spin. I tried to use the wind to my advantage by bowling with the wind on my right side, so it would carry to the left. I got to bowl my full 8 overs! It was mad as, I'd never done that before, but left empty-handed. But it's rubbish, I should have been awarded that wicket where I bowled a wrong-un from around the wicket, (the bails were off due to the wind goddammit) and the batsman missed it, and apparently it took the top off, had there been bails. Silly-mid and the keeper both said they saw the stump move, but the stupid piece a crap umpire didn't give it .
But anyway, I left with figures of 0 wickets for 33 runs off 8 overs, with 1 maiden .
Our team won, of course.

i don't play proper cricket, but i'm interested in it, i play with my friends at school sometimes, and the ashes are coming up (Australia vs England)

I really enjoy cricket. I am watching the AUS vs IND ICC match right now.

AUS 118 - 2 chasing 250.

I am from South Africa and obviously supporting them all the way but I worry about there opening batting form.... Ntini is onto something good at the moment though which makes me proud.

Last Saturday, we played a team that had only seven people. We fielded first innings, and I came into the attack as spinner. I was bowling loopy leg spinners as my captain instructed me, and my very last ball, I bowled a fast wrong-un, and cleaned bowled him, so good
