Some news: the PvE mode has a new raid available - "Convoy escort" - a Mad Max style mission where up to 4 players protect a large, AI-controlled truck from the ambushing AI enemies on its way to destination. I tried it, really fun.
And some general info (publicly available):
The game is being developed by a Russian studio, Targem Games (which also made some other car combat games earlier - Hard Truck: Apocaplypse / Ex Machina series, Armageddon Riders, etc) and published by Gaijin.
Vehicle customization. You can pick a pattern available and modify it, or you can build your vehicle completely from scratch, using the parts you own. You make a unique machine for your own playing style. There are no classes of vehicles, you make the armor yourself and choose the armanent and where to put it. It's tricky to combine both attacking capability and protection. For example, leaving a gun exposed can provide the best pointing angles, but will render it vulnerable, while covering it with some armor may limit the angles and leave some dead zones.
Some cabins (which is the base part of a vehicle) resemble real-life cars ('80s Ford F-series, VW Transporter T1, GAZ Gazelle, etc).
Physics. The more parts you install, the heavier your car gets. A heavy vehicle accelerates slower, but is better for ramming. If you put a large cannon on a small and light machine, you risk being rolled back by the recoil.
Economy. Completely different from what you've seen in War Thunder, World of Tanks etc.
You do not get money for the battles. You get resources and common parts that you can use to craft rare parts, then put them on your own vehicles or sell them to other players on the market. Oh, the market. You suggest your own price for a part, and the buyers can place their bid. It's like an auction. (If you're too impatient, you can simply buy the in-game money for real).
Graphics. Well, as you can see on the vids, it's currently not very good (quite PS3-like), but will certainly get better as the development progresses.
