I think I am done for the week, was a chastening one TBH. I just do not like the Viper and was struggling for pace in anything else I tried, lots of mistakes and I struggled with T1 all week despite loving this track. Dropped from A to B DR, tbh I do not mind because in B rooms I am generally in a legit fight for a podium or a win, in A/A+ it is just too fast.
I hear ya man! Im the same great week, of racing again, I'm bored with the 4C and nothing else feels good!

I can't get on with the Viper either, probably not helped as it needs short shifting, and I can only use AT.

That's probably why I've got on so well with the Hyundai, as you need to rev it hard, and that's easy with AT. QT has still not been great, putting me between P8 and P12 on the grid. I have been finishing between 2nd and 4th though - managed to beat that at last today:-

I bet I was the only one that finished with a clean race bonus, judging by the SRs of those behind me 😂

I’ve been off all week with the kids, so I’ve had a little more race time than usual and tbh, I’ve gotten bored of racing by yesterday 😁

Sardegna being a great racing circuit, not sure if the Viper was the best use of gr3, but I did, got a few wins and some good racing.

Totally disappointed with race A however, how is that a race which stays all week long?

Race C, sure this floats boats out there but not mine, so I’ll be ready for a swap next week

dang ive never seen a daily race with that much car variance in the field. I have the same ratings as you and yet somehow its all just the meta car for me, and maybe one to three off-metas. I see only three Vipers which is crazy to me. W race tho man

edit: i lied i have A class SR but still

Yes, there was a lot of variety in this race for some reason, and that was great to see - I have been in races where I'm the only one not in a Viper though......

Race B has definitely been the best choice this week!

A: utterly pointless, especially when the meta is a single car that they turned supposedly “balanced” says about the tuning balance let alone the simplistic “bop”

B: watching vipers being driven in a sprint race is kinda funny, B is also absolutely stacked this week so many A/A+ drivers I’ve never seen before and it’s a small pool for the whole of EMEA

Tough race as well, in all A lobbies you still get these weird missing their braking points peeps BRAKE EARLY AND LIFT OFF THEM IF YOU NEED TO! This gives you time to coast or brake again, brakes are aren’t all or nothing people!!

C: when A+ lobbies are ghosted in to the corner “inside” each other this is telling the high ghosting and generally rubbish race this is even at the top and bottom, it just doesn’t work in this config for online play.

Overall I think it’s a bad week and best avoided for sanity more than anything.

Yeah, I cannot wait for next week's dailies. I know it's dominated by really only two cars, but I want a gr.4 event back, they're fun little cars to race. Hell, I might even try to use an off-meta gr.4 for the first couple in the BMW GT4, decked out in my Jimmy Broadbent livery bc yes.

Yeah I can’t race these people anymore. A drivers with fast lap times 5 days in AND STILL CANT DRIVE IN A LINE OR TRAFFIC.

It’s pathetic, I’m guessing a lot of these scummers come out of the woodwork because this the favoured single player grind race.

I’m not the AI and there isn’t 750k credits on the table FFS

The pool is getting thinner and thinner for race C as the weeks goes on (A+, A , B mixed lobbies since yesterday) and the quality of races are "not desirable" lets say
Im loving the combo but it seems that the vast majority dont like it.

Lap 1 is the problem. Once the chaos has gone and you have close racing for 9 or 10 laps with a pack of 3 or 4 clean drivers deciding when to pass and when not... Oh boy, feels like heaven.

Lap 1 is the problem
It’s semantics, but lap one isn’t the problem, it’s the drivers being frank. You can’t blame a track that is decades old and has been the same for eons! (I know you are not I was being dramatic)

The match making is really all over the place at the moment, one race is 2nd split, the next with the savages.

These “new” racers I’m in lobbies with are pretty bad drivers if I’m being honest

Yup I’m done for this week, will work on my TT times and enjoy driving not these races.

Edit:

This is quite telling either for me or for the races, I’m not sure but it’s a bit weird.

I'm all for Race C with this beast of a car. It's not easy, it's not always fun but it's definitely a great challenge. Of course, I opted to race from behind and even cruise to turn 1 and extra careful for the second chicane. In fact, I start to race after Ascari on lap 1.

Best result are 2nd place, I did throw away a potential win as I was in 3rd with the better tires and only 2 sec behind the leaders on med. But as it get tense, the car bites me and I spun under acceleration at the exit of Ascari.

Another highlight was the 2 cars pit exit (me included) and 2 other cars coming for turn 1. We all zip our line and pass turn1 clean.

I might try to qualify this weekend as I seem to nearly have the pace of some front runner I know.

Lap 1 at Monza.
The full experience on VR 😄

Glad to see you on track yesterday!

It's pretty amazing how it seems easy to know where you exactly are on the track and relative cars. I'm driving with a controller and it's a scary experience, the car is so quick at changing direction, the minimum input is too much. I'm having a hard time just aligning my car on the side of the track, there must be half a car between me and the side of the track.

Rare gems like Race C this week make me almost want to get a PS5 so I can race with most of the other A+ drivers. It's too bad that 99% of the time the Dailies are unoriginal and boring so it's not worth making the purchase.

I think it's the forces and the timing. As I said, it was a big hit, as if the culprit never hit their brakes, and I ended up hitting 3 or 4 other cars in the process.

I've never seen such a huge strike to my SR in such a short period of time, so I must have stumbled upon an edge case.

Or maybe not. As I said, I went down almost as much with a 2 second contact penalty.

I hear you on the braking thing. If there's a pack and we are approaching the tight corner at the top of the hill, I try to pull up early and coast through the corner to avid contact and get a run on the guys who have bottled themselves up. But nope, cue dives from behind by A+ guys who should know better.

ZEE
Well the objective of sport mode is to have fun and do the best you can do for each event. No one is perfect and no race can ever be perfect the way people want it. That's the way life goes in general. I don't get upset about losing anymore. As long as I finish within the top 10, that is sufficient enough for me. It's only the aliens that get bent out of shape for finishing 4-12th place. Enjoy your weekend folks!

I have to say I'm feeling more relaxed than most around here with regards to Race C.

Admittedly, I haven't many races left in me this week but my experience has been reasonably tolerable/understandable. Minimum egregious bad driving, and alternative pit strategies (read: mistake in tyre choice...more than once) have yielded decent results, mainly just by keeping it on track.

In my last race I got dumped from Q3 to 16th at turn 1 and still got the win. There was a pretty quick driver sharing my pit window, I stretched out my RS as long as humanely possible and I still came out of the box waaaayyyy in front.

Looked at the players in the post race, lo and behold, a bunch of DR B-on-the-cusp-of-C drivers.

Matchmaking is indeed all over the place, or people are abandoning this combo early in the week.

That was a great dab of oppo at the end!!!!
Cheers, I've adjusted my wheel sensitivity down to 250 now (from 300ish) and things feel much better in Gr3 cars - much more alive, but prone to over-correcting occasionally. 🫣

I used the sensitivity on "auto" for 2 years, but since the last big update, I've been feeling things very understeery and unresponsive, so now I keep it around 300 or lower and tinker with it depending on car and track combos

Despite me falling a rank on my DR rating, I did get a much better C lobby racing, in my last 2 races and I finished 3rd in one of them so wahhayyyy!! I noticed ia m quicekr with the ASton v12 vantage at Sardegna!!

Group 3 races I can do well in are few and far between. Wins are even rarer. When I saw the races at the start of this week I was pretty sure that it would be a bad week for me. When I saw the meta for race B was the viper I was even more certain! Just goes to show you never can tell. Of course I should be sensible and quit for the week now, but where’s the fun in that?!

Funny moment of the week. Not a good idea to pit lap 1

I manage a decent QT of 1.24.7. So now I can start from top5 get killed in lap1 to DFL and climb back to top5 or higher. Just like I did the whole week without a QT in DR.A lobby.
First stint on med, I lap in 1.27 and pit lap 5 and lap in 1.26 and some flashes in 1.25. Consistency got better and better as the week pass. Not enough for a win but many podium.

There's kind of three pace for the race.
1. Safe pace without touching curb > Safe and steady
2. Fast pace by putting orange curb under the middle of the car > Fast but risky
3. All over the curb, can't hit the same place twice. > SOOO inconsistent.

I can do the three of them anytime anywhere!

Seriuously thought, I had really good races with minimum contact druing battle. It was a really fun week overall

(Tried my best to upload a gif)

I have to say race B has been hard this week, really took me everything to get into the 1.41 so hats off to everyone into the low 1.41 or even 1.40, however I managed 8 wins this week,

Sardegna A is a great racing circuit, complimented by good racers.

Like usual having one track all week I feel gives serious racers the time to get that time and learn that track.

It’s had its ups and downs and looking forward to next week
