At the moment I'm using a 17inch TINY (the brand) CRT monitor that is about 4yrs old and has a VGA connection to a Nvidia TNT2. The problem I have is mainly to do with GT4 images but I thought I'd ask the question here.

Basically when viewing peoples Photomode images I find them to be very dark. And when I see one that is of a good brightness other people say the photos are too bright. So, at first I thought it was just people generally liking darker images, weird, yes.

So today I imported my first batch of images from my PS2 to my computer making sure the images were bright enough, at least on my TV. So when I later viewed them on my PC and when I found they were much darker than originally I thought I would call in here.

The brightness on my monitor is maxed, and none of my friends have said my screen is too dark, and none of my games appear dark.

So does anyone know any software changes I can make?

Thanks to any and all help.

There's brightness / contrast etc. adjustments in the nVidia drivers...

Look and ye shall find - if you don't, ask ;)

I have the same problem on my CRT. I have my settings near perfect, so I rather not mess with them. Although, they look great on a LCD.

I just go into Photoshop and turn up the brightness and contrast on the pictures.

In your drivers control panel, you should be able to adjust brightness, contrast, gamma, etc.

Right-click on the desktop
Select Properties
Click on the Settings tab
Click on Advanced
Click on the nVidia TNT2 tab

Now, depending on what drivers you have, it may be different ... With the 60-series drivers, it's under Color Correction ...

I suggest you go to www.nvidia.com and update your drivers first, anyways ...

Ok, being more precise I have a Nvidia RIVA TNT2 Model 64.

I have tried-
Properties>Settings>Advanced but then I'm given the tabs General/adapter/monitor/perfromance/Color Management. Neither of which appear to any brightness adjustment.

Any further help I'd be grateful for, and sorry I'm abit slow on the reply but I've had exams (:grumpy: )

When is the last time you updated the drivers ? Are you still using the drivers that came with the card ?
