Hi there

Last couple of weeks, ive been trying to get into good online games with decent and serious racers. All to often i end up in rooms where people are just going nuts and behaving like little kids. It doesnt matter if room is named "clean bla bla".

I have read some threads about members here using hugely underpowered cars and still winning against maniacs with more hp than they can handle.

Seeing im a decent driver, (gets his ass handed to him sometimes by really good drivers) and not being able to get some good races lately, I ventured into the idea of using "underpowered car" and beating these unmature people driving their X1's and FGT etc.

So i looked in the UCD and found it: VOILA!, Fiat Panda'90. A whopping 1000ccm of brut force. Dishing up 44hp.
Altough, after tuning it raised from 44 to 190hp. Weighing in at 660kg, its gonna whop ass. Chassis/Engine rebuild, setting up suspension and tickering about (1,5 hours testing it) it was finnally ready 👍

I did the testing at Tsukuba. I cant really beat anyone with 8.12.xx at nurnburgring, so i went for those small curvy tracks. Finally i clocked in 1.00.59. (just couldnt break 1.00.00)

So i went looking for online races and finally found a room where skid rec force was disenabled. Tsukuba as well! wee!

Hp limit set to 450. perfect! I see all these nice cars, corvettes, lambos - you name it. First race (2laps) we are 14 drivers. First corner its the usuall clusterup and i manage to avoid the worst part due to my car being slow of the line. Im in 4th place and holding my own. I get passed by a Lotus Elise 111R RM which later won the race. Finally i came in 5th of 12 finishing cars.

It was too funny looking at scoreboard with all these high end cars (and some racing cars). Seeing my Panda up there with Callaway C12 and NSX's:sly:

There was alot of people going in and out of room because they realised skid was off. Some decent drivers came in and i couldnt win a race, but managed a couple of 3rd's.

The best part was all the fun i had doing this! People in chat were going crazy when i passed them on the inside on last curve on Tsukuba.

You should try this, not only to show off your driving skills, but see as a challenge.

cliffnotes:

-tired of crazy people crashing all around the course
-lack of mature decent drivers
-buy/builds smallest car u can find, and tunes it
-crushes corvettes, NSX's with 190hp
-feels his private-launched vendetta against online rooms has succeded

There you have it!

Please post similar stories, these are fun to read!

Man I love this story, this is exactly what I am doing at the moment. I look for the smallest underpowered cars, buy them, tune them to the max, test them, readjust a lot (usually) and then race against far superior cars. The problem which I found with the Panda is that using a high rev turbo is not the best, I went for the low or medium one. Had to adjust the LSD to minimum values, so that the cars front wheels don't always burn out when accelerating… It is a lot of fun hearing other people's comments online though ;)
