Hi,
I recently got an issue with my CSP. Most of the time they work normal, but once in a while (like one of the 20 times I brake) when I hit the brake, it doesn't brake. Then after a second or two it suddenly does brake. And than it works normal again.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?:scared:

Thanks,

BTW: I searched for a topic to put this in, but I couldn't find the right one..

yes I have. Well, I cleaned everything, but I didn´t tight up all the screws. Do you think that´s the problem?

I tried to tighten all screws, but they already are tight. So, that doesn´t solve the problem. Does anyone else have suggestions?

Do you have pets? I used to have that happen when my cats would cruise by from time to time-something to do with static electricity.

It only happens very infrequently now after applying the Fanatec GT3 RS V.2 firmware Fanatec tech support provided me with designed to alleviate GT3 RS. V.2 drop outs a few months ago.

Although its your pedals, because they are connected to the GT3, they are on the same circuit for practical purposes.

Is this happening in GT5 or on another game like NFS Shift? I have noticed that this happens on PS3 in NFS Shift 2 much more frequently than other games like GT5.

In addition to the wheel do you have anything else connected via USB to the PS3?

Also, have you tried to see if same thing happens when you have the wheel's power supply connected to a different power outlet?

I have GT3 RS V.2 and CSPs too.

I have no other usb´s connected to my PS3, only my wheel. I didn´t test it with other games yet, so I don´t know how it will act in them.
I also do have pats, but they can´t come at my cockpit.

However, I recently added an aluminium bar to my wooden cockpit to make it a bit more rigid. My wheel clamp has a connection to this bar. Will that be the problem?

I know there have been posts here and on other forums regarding Fanatec wheels and possible grounding/static electricity issues. If you are referring to the built-in plastic clamp I do not think it would affect this. But you could always try without and see what happens.

On the other-hand, I have read where wheel housing mounting screws longer than the ones that Fanatec recommends (20mm protrusion inside of wheel housing) have caused internal circuit issues on Porsche-style wheels because of interference with USB port's circuitry on left side.

Have you contacted Fanatec and inquired about the firmware that is supposed to help with disconnects?

Also curiously, I never had the CSP pedals disconnect when I was using my old Carrera wheel or when I use my CSR wheel. There is also a thread on ISR devoted to GT3 RS V.2 disconnects you may want to check.

Also, when that was happening with greater frequency than now to me before I applied the firmware, I would power down the wheel and disconnect from PS3 and then re-connect in order to re-calibrate the pedals' connection with wheel.

well, the wheel itself doesn´t disconnect. Only the brake pedal does (for one or 2 seconds).
I have hardmounted my wheel, but I have it like that for a long time now so that can´t be the problem.

I haven't contected Fanatec yet, but it almost can't be a firmware issue, since I use it like this for a long time, without any problems...

But your pedals are connected through the wheel so they are for all practical purposes on the same circuit. So if the wheel has a circuitry issue regarding the pedal connection that might be related to static electricity or grounding your pedals could drop off.

Your pedals are dependent on the the wheel for circuit power because they are connected directly. Mahnegold had a similar problem to yours, I did too. In my case it only happened when CSPs are connected to GT3, not Carrera or CSR.

And just to clarify it still happens to me from time to time, maybe 1 to 2 times a week now instead of every 10 races, and the cat does not have to cruise by for it to happen.

I just did some more testing and now also my wheel disconnects.
The strange thing is however, it only happens when I hit the brake (once in a while)

I removed the clamp, but it doesn't help

What can it be?
- too long screws
- firmware?
- mounting screws of my CSP
- anything else?

Does anyone know?
First I had no problem at all, but now I suddenly got a disconnection problem..

installing the driver?

EDIT: just tested the wheel and pedals on my PC and they seem to work okay.
The loadcell doesn´t give a sign of dying..
