I could move it just a little bit if I really tried and didn't notice it at all while racing. Now I can really notice it and it bothers me while racing....
It's hard to imagine your wheel has developed a problem, knowing how you babied it and all.

Scotty

I can see that the axial movement on some wheels is higher than necessary and if the shaft movement really bothers someone then we will replace or repair the wheel.
We will take special care about this issue in production from now on.

👍 lets hope you can get it sorted quickly.

So this basically that means my wheel will be replaced by one from the upcoming production batch Thomas ?

In my previous emails to Johannes i already wrote that i don't mind waiting untill the new wheels are back in stock.

👍 for Thomas.

That's all the community was asking for, that if they notice something in early models that is bothersome and abnormal that it gets dealt with (by repair or swap) and that it gets some extra attention during production for future customers and replacement wheels.
So thank you Thomas for upping the quality and service by these few words, hopefully trust will come soon after from the ones who were/are troubled still. :)

👍 For Fanatec customer support:tup:

Seems there was some mix up between my Username on this forum and the Fanatec account email.

Fanatec support has contacted me personally and assured me that they are working on it.

Because this a new product, it could take some time, but issues will be solved.

From this personal contact i really got the feeling that they do care for their customers and they are doing their best to support this awesome product.

I'm very glad that my blind trust in Fanatec was not misplaced and i looking forward to their upcoming awesome products.

If you have the issue, just contact support and they will handle it properly.

My wheel hasn't "developed" any problems. Any problems it has were there when I got it. I have just exposed those problems.

Thrust is something different from trust, Henkus. lol
Thrusting into Fanatec/Thomas... I don't know if he swings that way. lmao

For all of us I hope you get your issue resolved. I have a Elite as well and it has performed great since day one. I received mine on Jan 20th. And have used it everyday since. No issues at all. I have used it on PS3 and xbox 360.

Blade-

PS This unit is soooo much better than the standard CSR wheel. Amazing!

Good thinking. I'm glad too. Also glad it will get extra attention during production so people won't see the issues in the future, hopefully. Or at least on a rare occasion maybe.

A very good friend of mine was sitting on the fence and considering getting a sim wheel/pedal set to play multi platform. He had done lots of lapping using my CSR when he voiced his thoughts on getting the same wheel at some point as he liked it quite a bit. For Xmas I got him the Rennsport stand to get him motivated to jump on the sim wheel wagon. At the time he knew I had a CSR E on preorder and although he thought it "looked" amazing he thought I was nuts to spend that kinda cash on a wheel when he already thought the CSR was expensive.

When I got my CSR E setup and tuned I invited home over to try it out as he was curious to see how it compared to the CSR which he was quite familiar with. He came over and spent about 40 mins driving Forza 4 with my Elite. At this point he hadn't committed to buying a wheel/pedals yet. So what did he think of the CSR E?

He ordered a CSR E and CSPs the next day and he's been playing Forza 4 at least an hour a day since he got it 3 weeks ago.......he constantly raves about how much he loves it and how it's transformed sim game playing.

Hey guys

Just received my CSR Elite.
It seems to be the last one from the first batch and knowing all the baby issues I checked mine out of the box.
I also have a movement in the steering shaft for about 1-2 mm and a loud clonk noise.
While driving it doesn't really bother me and the wheel performs great, but still it's a manufacturing defect.
I will write now an email to the tech support.

Just one more thing, on the 911wheel forum some guy posted a guide, how to resolve this issue yourself (will post the link, when I find it).
Anyone has an idea if this is official posted or emailed by support somewhere?!?
Edit: first the link http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/7923
and I re-read it and it seems the guy found it by himself. But still a official fix would be nice.
I know opening the product voids your warranty, but I had to ship my wheel half around the world, as there is no distributor in my region and I would really like to keep my wheel.

Thx

I read that guide. I actually went through that process with my first Elite and it didn't fix anything with the shaft play. It could help if said bolts are loose but unfortunately from what I've gathered this is a machining error on either the axis shaft or the center bore of one of the plates where one of the two bearings resides.

This is what I also had in mind and besides, I hate to do self fixes on brand new products.
I will first write an email to the support and see what options they offer.
In case I have to replace the wheel, I will just wait til summer, when I'm back in germany ;)
Anyways the wheel works fine except that little issue and it definetly out performs every other wheel I used before ^^
