The main reason i purchased this wheel was mainly because of its vast opportunities in being able to be upgraded. Yes anything can be upgraded although i haven't used a system or a chassis like a csr elite, i've previously had an g27 which was great and i've had to rip it apart only once. The thing i find different from the two is its small screws and everything is compacted into such a small space making my ability to upgrade it not feasible. This is where i find the Elite leaps and bounds over its competition, it will never be a stagnant device, i myself will be able to, and have rip it apart and fix my own problems quite easily. I love the fact that it uses proper t-40+ screws and that the entire body can be removed exposing the barebones mechanical structure with ease. Has anyone actually noticed how large of a space there is to install even larger motors plus a better fan? I love this, cause these new models will never go obsolete because there so easy to work on!

My question??? i've noticed that there are quite incredible quality button boxes , rims, etc for quite cheap. When do you think we will see a private company, or Fanatec release a special package packed with a total overhaul of the original equipment? It probably include motors, fan, PCB and considering the number of people who purchased the wheels they could make some money. How hard would this be (for the tech guys) to achieve and who cares about xbox compatibility?

AFAIK there is only one upgrade and that is for a different rim to replace the God ugly one that shipped with it. I'm not sure when it will release, if ever. Good luck with your new Elite, it is a great wheel.

Ya its aight i wish the motors were a little better in quality, p.s if anyone knows of a pair of motors that are better and will drop in without much trouble message me! thanks.
I doubt it but w.e

The motor(s) is probably the last thing you'd want to change in the CSR-E. It's the heart of the system and I'm willing to bet a large part that went into Thomas' design of the CSR-E ties to the dual Mabuchi R550. And don't be fooled into thinking that just because it's cheaper means that it lacks quality.

As to the upgrade capability or unofficial term mod-ability- the obvious path is either purchasing the soon to be released F1 rim, or install you own QR system and ultimately custom rim like this one:

Thats illlll, my dream is to use the detachable wheel from my own track car to the csr elite and be able to switch the 2 just like that. It would just feel good using the same wheel from virtual to reality, unfortunately i have a heavy wheel currently but ill find one sooner or later. By the way nice nixon watch i have almost the same one!
