i just got my csr racing wheel today, and when i tried to use it, the wheel would use so much ffb i couldnt move the wheel. the wheel would also move on its own. i am using fw 750 at the moment. the wheel came with 706, but i thought 750 might fix the problem but it didnt. its practically impossible to complete one lap in forza with these problems!!! please help.

Try to lower the FF in the wheel-settings menu. (Same way you changed your fw, but a click more to the right). I race at FF set to 80, 70 for really long races.

Also it might be a little stiff at first anyway due to how long these wheels sit doing nothing. Give it a week or so. Also what wheel did you have previously because fanatics are powerful wheels, it might just be your not sed to it yet.

thanks for responding. i tried to lower the ff, but as long as its on it uses max power, and the wheel is constantly turning by its self. i dont it has to break in, because i can barely move the wheel from its starting position.

It's a strange thing to happen, try emailing fanatecwheel about the problem. They may no about it and might be able to offer a solution or a replacement.

If drift mode is on. Turn it off. That should stop it from spinning on its own.

Just stop the wheel, it'll stop as soon as you touch it.. I had this too. I solved it by lowering the FF but what Patrick said is also true. It's better to put drift mode off.

I keep drift mode off at all times, and it stops if I grab it, but once I hit a turn it starts doing its own thing. When I look at the steering wheel display in forza, it shows it skipping from side to side. Is there a firmware I should try downloading? I'll try anything at this point I just really want to use it!!!

Hey guys my wheel was just starting to work when a new problem occurred! Now my problem is the car won't turn until I pass the 90' mark on both sides. I don't know how a bran new wheel could be so messed up, especially since these things aren't cheap!!!

Wow, you must be the unluckiest fanatec wheel owner ever. But the more you say, the more it sounds like a firmware problem, go to www.fanatecwheel.com to get the best firmware for your wheel.

i am assuming that you are on the xbox360 ?.
if so it sounds like you are using the wheel to start the xbox - this is known to cause such problems.
start the xbox by it`s guide button - then start the wheel by the wheel guide button - try it - you might like it .
if this is what you have been doing then disregard this post

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately ive tried this already and it didn't help.

I think I know. Have you connected your pedals to your xbox? If so, don't! Connect your pedals to your wheel. What also causes this is, if you put the prdal connector in the shifter connector, same happens.

I had the same problem as you. It has just been a couple of weeks since I got my csr and it was working good......but since I was traveling for a few days, I decided to disconnect the wheel from the electrical outlet and when I came back home I connected it back again and all of a sudden the car wouldn't turn until passed the 90' mark and all my setting were just as I left them!!!

I kind of solved the problem by using the S_2 (settings # 2 spot) in my wheel and even though that solved my steering problems I feel like my car is drifting more than before and I'm losing 3 seconds per lap.....(I wrote down my previous times in excel).....

This stupid wheel is much more expensive than the G27 and it's not half as good and it has so many flaws....and what the heck is that thing with the firmware??? :banghead:
I never had to update my G27 and it worked flawlessly since the first day.
I hope turn 10 begins supporting logitech for forza 5.
