I'm just generally curious; and have a couple questions for those others who have either earned or purchased an x2010 Red Bull car.

(a) If you earned the car, about how long (if earned due to B-Spec being level 35) and how many attempts (if earned by means of completing the x2010 challenge) did it take you?

(b) If you purchased the car, how long did it take you to save the credits? and also were (or are you) happy with what you purchased? Is it worth the expenditure?

(c) If you grind B-Spec, at what point did you (if at all) set the x2010 as the main workhorse as opposed to the FGT?

(d) Of those able to seriously drive the car, how many actually do so with a controller as opposed to a wheel? -this question is also regarding the FGT as well.

Ok so there's a few questions there that I've been curious about for a while. I hope to get a little perspective on how others really are enjoying the game and the fantasy car(s) that we'd probably otherwise never, ever see, hear, touch, or otherwise experience in reality... Forgive me if anyone prior to myself has posted or asked similar, as there are hundreds of posts that I don't care to sift through.

As for my answers, I earned the x2010 by means of hitting B-Spec level 35, and switched from the FGT to it just as soon as I realized I can't control it with the standard controllers; it's the same as the FGT and the Kart for me - WAAAAY too touchy and twitchy, even numbed all the way to sensitivity of minus 2.

a - two weeks of Bob doing all the endurance events over 10 times each
b - if you like the speed it's worth it. I love it
c - as soon as i got one from a friend before the 1 million credit cap
d - I'm not sure.

I got one form a friend a long time ago, but I have since earned mine form the Vettel Challenge. I used to drive it with a controller, very inconsistent though. I got a wheel later.

a) A couple weeks of B-Spec racing. I still haven't done the Vettel Challenge.
b) I would not buy this car.
c) I still use my FGT as my workhorse because I hate it so much in this game. Keep in mind I have a DS3. I don't want to mess up my X2010 chassis rigidity by doing B-spec. FGT I don't care about, because it was used when I got it.
d)Yup, I use a DS3, its not TOO hard, just takes getting used to. I think the FGT is harder to drive than the X010, but thats just me.

A.) I havent' gotten up to level 35 in B-Spec, but it took me about 4 to 7 tries on the Vettel challenge each race to get bronze.

B.) The colored version of the X2010 seems to be better in my opinion. You can manually adjust each gear ratio individually. You can't do that in the S.Vettel, only the final drive ratio (you can't even adjust the top speed adjuster). I only managed to borrow a colored version. I am unable to but it until I'm level 40 in either A-Spec or B-Spec.

C.) I only used the X2010 once for B-Spec mode. That race was the Indy 500. I really wanted that prize car for it. Afterwards, I redid the race in a more "Suitable" car.

D.) I can drive the X2010 with my DualShock 3 controller, no problem. You just need an insane amount of precision on the steering, which I am good with. I'd like to try it out on a steering wheel, but I don't have one.

Overall, I really don't care much for the X2010 in general. I only enjoy it on a time trial run, not in an actual race.

I use a controller and use it for all of my X2010 compatible B-Spec Races, along with A-Spec. I got mine from a guy who wanted an FGT...Why, I don't know.
Only have about 6 million Credits, probably my highest earnings so far.

I got mine from a trade a while ago.. working towards B-Spec 35 for another.
Wouldn't purchase one.. so many other nice cars for 20m
I've been using mine (Carbon) for grinding both A and B spec.. will keep my S. Vettel from b spec 35 as my "good" one that won't be run much, mainly online.
I use a controller.. which is why I haven't bothered with the challenges trying to get one.. I'll wait till I can afford the wheel

got my X1 by completing the vettel challenge. all bronze in an agonizing 9-hour wrestle with the DS3. my left thumb was hard as rock after and i had to call in sick for work the next day. nothing in this world will make me do it again until i get a proper wheel. :rage:

a) Earned my first one for B spec level 35, second from bronzing the Vettel Challenge (probably 4-5 hours work in 2 stints).
b) Not sure if I'd buy one if I didn't have one already, considering all the bad press it gets. But then again, who am I kidding? I bought the P330 and I don't even use it.
c) As soon as I realised you can grind the dream car championship in about 1h 20 for 860k. Not bothered about the chassis as I have my pristine 2nd car. Mind you, all this 'I'll never use it' stuff you hear is a tad disturbing. It's a game.
d) Controller all the way (not dropping £170+ on a controller for a game). Auto gears and controller sensitivity on 3. The 2 Vettel Challenge cars I have can only have their gears altered individually, unless an update I didn't notice has changed this.

(a) It only took me a few attempts on each course to finish the Sebastian Vettel challenge with my Dualshock 3 controller (bronze). But this is because I had three Red Bull X2010s already from trades. I was already used to it, to some extent. I'd get silver or gold if it was one lap.

(b) Do some glitching and it won't take long to reach 20 million credits!

(c) Well I had a Red Bull X2010 before an FGT so...

(d) I don't use a wheel for this game. Just a DS3. I'm still young and I've been playing FPS games since I was a kid (Turok) so my reflexes are good. As for the FGT, well this requires more precise acceleration out of corners unlike the Red Bull X2010. This is something you must do with either the right analog stick on the DS3, or a pedal. Unfortunately I still use the X button - I have to get used to using the right stick on the DS3.

Took me about 30 attempts to get the bronze on the Seb Challenge. I thought it would take longer. I also got one very soon after at level 35 B Spec. Which sucks, now I have 2 and can't trade one! Took me about 2 and a half months to get to B Spec level 35.

(b) If you purchased the car, how long did it take you to save the credits? and also were (or are you) happy with what you purchased? Is it worth the expenditure?
Not bought one. Don't think I would now they aren't tradable. Made that mistake buying an F10.

I used the X10 as soon as I got it on A spec and B spec to try and get some practice on A spec to get gold on the Seb Challenge. (No luck as yet!) I use it on B spec instead of the FGT because I dislike it and want to harm it in any way possible!

I got rid of my wheel around the same time as I won the X10. It's definitely do-able with the pad. GT games, I've always found to be pad friendly, even with this fast a car. I used to have some code cheat disk thing for GT4 where you could set the game to double speed and it was still controllable in the Sauber, Minolta etc. The wheel was great for F1 games though, so when I got rid of the wheel, I quit my online F1 league.

Traded for the first one, that I used to get upto Level 35 B- Spec, so now I have another. Will try the X2010 challenge at some point

Wouldn't save 20 million, want too many other cars. having used the x2010, don't think it is worth it - unless you want to grind B-spec or rubber band A-spec.
(c) If you grind B-Spec, at what point did you (if at all) set the x2010 as the main workhorse as opposed to the FGT?
I do occasionally grind B-spec, only have one FGT so I use the very used X1/X2010

I find it frustrating to use with a DS3, and don't really play very much - so can't really justify spending money to get a steering wheel. I enjoy driving the other cars I have in my garage - and I have so many left to try out! I'm not that fond of the FGT nor the F1 Ferrari either - much rather use other cars, stock and see what times I can get out of them. Would probably be much better with these cars if I didn't jump between other cars so much

Took me ages, can't even remember how long. It likely was over a month though, as I wasn't on a mission to get to 35. And to think that I've earned a friend of mine one without any doing of his.

and how many attempts (if earned by means of completing the x2010 challenge) did it take you?

Did a few attempts way back, when it was still difficult to even get bronze, felt it was too hard with the DS3, and stopped attempting. Still haven't gone back to it, as I've got plenty of X2010s now. Actually got my first two through trade when it was still possible.

(b) If you purchased the car, how long did it take you to save the credits? and also were (or are you) happy with what you purchased? Is it worth the expenditure?

Would have never thought of buying one with my hard earned cash, but it takes about 80 hours of non-stop remote racing for me to collect $20 Million.

(c) If you grind B-Spec, at what point did you (if at all) set the x2010 as the main workhorse as opposed to the FGT?

As soon as I got it, back when I was still grinding B-Spec. I don't do that anymore, though, it's all remote racing for me now.

(d) Of those able to seriously drive the car, how many actually do so with a controller as opposed to a wheel? -this question is also regarding the FGT as well.

I don't have a wheel, it's all DS3 for me. Don't really like the X2010 for short races, but it's probably the best choice for endurance races, and I actually did the Laguna Seca endurance race with it, and I wouldn't have wanted to use any other car.

it's the same as the FGT and the Kart for me - WAAAAY too touchy and twitchy, even numbed all the way to sensitivity of minus 2.

Yeah, I don't like it either. It's marginally better than the kart, but quite a bit worse than the FGT. I still take the FGT to La Sarthe on occasion, hardly drive the X2010 other than for endurance races to cut down race times.

Once I could start running B-spec enduros, I earned my first X1 (not to be confused with receiving my first X1) after about two months or so, running an enduro three or four nights a week.

For the Vettel challenge, I was finally able to Bronze after they lowered the Bronze requirements. Still took me about a week and a half each track, about two hours a night. My nemesis was Suzuka; that one took about three weeks, at about two hours a night.

(b) If you purchased the car, how long did it take you to save the credits? and also were (or are you) happy with what you purchased? Is it worth the expenditure?
Not level 40 yet; can't purchase it from the lot yet.

(c) If you grind B-Spec, at what point did you (if at all) set the x2010 as the main workhorse as opposed to the FGT?
Immediately. Didn't even have a FGT when I began grinding in B-spec. ;)

(d) Of those able to seriously drive the car, how many actually do so with a controller as opposed to a wheel? -this question is also regarding the FGT as well.
I only use the DS3; I don't have a wheel.

The X1 is FANTASTICALLY imbalanced; I tend to use it to wrap up enduros as quickly as I can, or for rubber-band grinding around Indianapolis. It's too imbalanced to take into any other race; it's pretty much the Gran Turismo equivalent of the B.F.G.

I received my first couple of X1's as gifts from a mate, before the million credit cap was put in place. ;) The two I've gotten from B-spec and the Vettel challenge are pristine and untouched as of yet.

IMO, it's not worth striving for. Find a friend who has one and can put it online for you to use. There are so many other more fun cars to drive...imo.
