It's 3200 MSpoints for everything with each pack being 400points and the Rally pack being 1600. This includes the January Pack.

If you get the season pass it's 4000 + 2400 for the remaining packs = 6400.
Without the season pass it's actually (400 x 12) + 1600 = 6400.

So...currently, the season pack ISN'T saving you any money. It's actually costing money.

For it to save you the 15% that Turn10 has said, the total value of the DLC would have to be about 7400 points. (7360 to be exact)

7400 - 6400 = 1000 more points to be thrown in. Which comes out to about 3 more expansion packs if they're all 1600. Really it's actually closer to two 1600 point Expansions and one 800 point expansion which would probably be the VIP pack or something.

I think Shouden is referring to packs after April, which are likely given the precedent set by FM4. However, the SP savings were always intended to reflect DLC up to April:
Month One = 400
Six DLC packs = 400 x 6 = 2400
Rally Expansion = 1600
Five exclusive cars (thru March) = ???

The math works out if each of the exclusive cars were worth 61.2 points -- 306 in total -- which seems pretty fair:
4706 - (0.15 x 4706) = 4000.1 points.

It only gets muddy if you bring the premium for the LCE into the picture. If you have the LCE and SP, you effectively paid for the Month One DLC twice. On the other hand, I hate, hate, hate those eco-cases they make for games now, and I can live with investing a little extra to help support PG and future Horizon titles. In hindsight, I would have paid $130 for Enthusia if it ensured a sequel, and that was only a $40 game new.

This is getting complicated but I'll show my thinking. Assuming there will be a car pack every month (12) and NO future expansion packs like rally (although we don't know that) plus Rally (1600).

So I come up with 400x12=4800 in only car packs. Then add rally 4800+1600=6400 Sooo you get 4000 vs. 6400 over the life of the game plus season pass bonuses. They didn't guarantee INSTANT savings. Maybe I'm not understanding Shouden properly.

But the Season Pack is only 6 regular packs plus the Rally Expansion. And if there's 12 DLC packs, then you still need to get 6 packs with the season pack.

I don't think it'd be fair to assume everyone bought the LCE with the "15% savings" thing. So, in my thinking, there's still one more or two extra packs which would probably be the Pre-order pack.

*facepalm* I had no idea the season pass only covered six months plus expansion. I guess I should have read the details before I bought it :/ Guess it "pays" to do your research  (See what I did there?) Does the LCE cover all DLC or is it the same as purchasing the season pass afterwards?

There are 7 regular packs in total, and another 5 cars after that. See how I broke it down above.

The LCE includes access to the Month One DLC, 5 VIP cars, and 5 LCE livery cars, no matter when you buy it. But all other DLC requires the SP or individual purchase.

You know what I just thought of? There's the Season Pass Pack, as well. That's 5 cars. So there's your 15%. But...doesn't that only technically count if they release the Season Pass Pack for everyone?

To me, the Season Pass in Horizon isn't worth the $50. I mean, you'd have to spend $50 anyway for the DLC and that 15% is like a pack or two. I don't know why they made the arcade Forza's season pass $50 and the actual simulation Forza 4's only $30. It makes no sense. I mean, they literally cut the savings in half. Forza 4's it saved you 30% and it was a lot easier to buy the Pass than download all those packs. with Horizon...it's not that cost effective...maybe time effective if you wait until all the DLCs are out, but, it still seems backward, to me. the full-fledged Forza game should have the $50 season pass and the arcade should have the $30 pass. It's like paying $100 for half season tickets and discovering that the full season tickets were $60.

The cost is the same -- if you bought FM4's Season Pass and the Porsche Expansion, you still paid $50. The difference is that there are six/seven cars per pack this time, instead of ten. And it's Rally instead of Porsche, of course.

I wish we were getting ten cars per pack, but maybe PG has fewer resources to invest in DLC development than T10.
