Surprised no one has mentioned the Beetle yet

Dude doesn't know what he's talking about. WRX's were in GT300 forever.

As of recently, GT300 is equitable to GT3 in terms of pace
Lol how could this have been forgotten...

Ive been trying lots of gr.3 cars atm because Im not sure who Ill drive for for next season. Vette, AMG, BMW M6 and Aston Martin gave me the best results so far. All have pro and cons imo. I think the gr.3 cars are pretty close to each other, difference will be on track characteristics and driving style.

I feel like it depends on your driving style as well. That said, RC-F 2017.

It's diesel, but Mazda raced this at the 24 Hours of Daytona 2014, so PD isn't that far out there with the Atenza.
That’s pretty swish, kudos to Mazda. It’d be cool if they added something like the MARC Mazda3 V8 too

While the Aston Martin might be a little aerodynamically impaired and weights a little more if compared to other cars, it's one of the most sound and stable cars to drive. Yes, maybe it's a literal potato with a v12 slapped on, but it's like my favourite car to drive in the entire GR3 roster

Old pre-2010’s GT300 is nowhere close to modern FIA GT3, which is Group 3.
Well thats not right. Subaru has a WRX that did compete in the Super GT season of 2018 - and it could win races - when it did not break down. Check this VOD of the NismoTV channel:

No hes not wrong, old gt300 cars had much less power than current gt3. That being said you're right, there was indeed a gt300 subaru wrx car with a boxer engine from the rally car in this year supergt championship. And there was some "new" gt300 cars, those subaru and a toyota prius with a detuned lmp1 engine which will use a different engine next year (lexus RC-F engine most likely).

The jag is also really stable over curbs and steep elevation changes. It's my go to for Mt Panorama.

May fair well at Dragon Trail then. May give it a go.

GR Supra or FT-1
Last Friday tried some different cars in race B, the Toyotas always were at the front end.
Tried for the first time the GR Supra, won the race quite easily by some 6 seconds (only my 4th win in Sport Mode), ok I'm a D DR rating player, not top of the crop...

Forget about made up cars'. cars'."If it has 4 tyres and goes from point A to point B, then it's a car". With that the Beetle is absolute mint car I drive. Excellent tyre wear as well.

For those of you that don't already know, Sugo is one of PC2's tracks, and one of my favorite Japanese tracks. Definitely old-school European in flavor, close grass, little runoff, great elevation and flow.

At that level most likely won't be able to handle the Supra, or will have aids on slowing it down a bit anyway. I'm not a fan of it myself really but it is proper fast and was dominant at Seaside reverse. Also even if some other D's did use it there's a good chance they won't (can't if they use auto) shift very early with it like you need to.

Yeah... as I said, was the first time I've driven the Supra, just tried it because I noticed some guys using it on the top end, on three previous races (I haven't raced on Sport Mode in a while now, before Friday only a Mini race in Suzuka East, a couple of weeks ago, in the last six months), the first impression I had of the car were the rev limiter take action...
The car didn't impressed me but it was reasonably fast on the clock...

My personal favorites are the AMG, the Vette, the Aston, and the Hyundai.

The Vette and Aston are fairly stable cars, with good top speed and acceleration. The Vette can be good on fuel if you are short shifting it as you should (it starts to lose torque early and requires short shifting to be as quick as possible imo). The Aston, as stated, can slide around a bit in 2nd, but it's manageable, esp. if you use TC 2. The Astons (GT3 and 4) took me to quite a decent FIA season while we were still having the true season.

The Merc and Hyundai are not quite as fast in a straight (or at least don't feel like it to me) but are both very stable and easy to drive. The Hyundai may be one of the easiest GT3 cars in the game to drive (again, personal opinion). I'm not sure how either of these 2 cars are on fuel, as I haven't done enough fuel/tire wear races with them to get a good idea, but the Hyundai at least seems to be good on fuel with just a tad of short shifting.
