There's plenty of insightful content to be consumed but you have to scoop the pot deep because the scum rises to the top.

Twitter rightfully gets a bad wrap. I try and stay away from the political stuff on there if I can help it. Just enjoy BSing about sport, games and posting stuff I find humorous. Not too much different from what I do on GTP, to be fair.

I don't post. Can't. I haven't bothered to sign up. I only look in from the outside, frequently, to your point, out of morbid curiosity.

Still, there are lots of perspectives on it and some of them are actually rational. It's also a good source of information if you can be critical of what's there and not simply accept it on the basis that it conforms to your own views.

The only problem with sifting through a cesspit to find the occasional golden nugget is all the crap still goes into your eyes and brain, even when you're making a pointed effort to avoid it.

IMO people have a lot to answer for with the way they use Twitter, and the way we've elevated it to some mythical importance, to the point where it's considered a constantly present marriage partner to any kind of political discourse. Worrying, and a little sad.

EDIT: Having said all that, it's not like I don't enjoy this thread/appreciate the sifting.
