Am I the only one that absolutely adores this car? It's AWD and is a bit weighed down by all it's electronic gubbins (3 diffs!), but I took this car out on the Nurburgring 24h circuit today and didn't want to stop driving it.

I regularly test racing cars around that track, and I get annoyed whenever I crash and have to restart the lap. But in the CUSCO Impreza, I didn't mind messing up my hot lap, because it meant I could start again and drive this beautiful car more.

It grips so well to the road, I was able brake later, carry more speed through the corners and then accelerate away earlier without worrying about running off the track. Even if you do get two wheels on the grass, the fancy LSD's will send the power where it needs to be, and you can usually keep the car pointed the right way. I even set up a wet Nurburgring online just to test out this cars ability on a wet track. There was a slight amount of wheel spin if I was too hasty on the throttle, but it still gripped like a dream.

It's not an nail biting thrill ride to drive in, there are many other cars that can provide that for you, but it's relaxing, fun and easy to push to the limit.

I really love this car, and want to use it a lot more. The problem is I can't seem to find any events witch regulations fitting this car, and it can't compete with the GT500 cars. Where can I race this beast?

If you like the Cusco Dunlop wait until you drive the Impreza Super Touring Car it' my favorite one even though its standard. I was compaaring both on Deep Forest and the super touring has a faster time!

the super touring has a faster time!

Probably due to the weight difference and RWD having none of the normal AWD understeer. I love both, but I only have the GT300 at the moment (I think), I first took it out for a spin on Suzuka and, yeah, it was pretty much as good as I was expecting.

As for races to try it on, I just saw a thread where someone organises Super GT events which look like fun, if only my internet connection would hold out long enough for a good race...

As a category of cars featured in GT5, though, I think the Super GTs are probably my favourite, followed closely by DTM, mainly because I like that they're not enormously powerful but have plenty of downforce. They're just a lot of fun to drive and aren't too difficult to be fast in, unlike the X2010 or TVR Speed 12.

Oh and it's so nice finally reading about people enjoying GT5!

Just bought the car, it's incredible! I was able to sling it around corners really well, and it sticks like glue :D. Also the damage isn't half-bad either!

Ive loved that car since gt3, also try out the alfa romeo race car... I know it by looks, but I cant think of the name. Ive raced it once in gt5, but I forget where.

I haven't seen the damage model on this car. That either means the car must have really good handling to keep me from accidentally konking it, or that I love it to much to even try

The most fun car I've had at the ring is the RM Lotus 111. I ran a 7:28 with a top speed of only 155. The Citroen race car smoked me down the last straight, but I was on his butt in the twisties.

Great fun car to drive, and I agree with above that its a great momentum car since it has really very little power for the grip level. I think I eek out maybe 255kph down the long straight on the Ring with the car setup for it. It can carry amazing cornering speed if you lean on it and it doesn't push like most AWDs even with my own setup. On the Type V circuit I have a 8:40 right now and maybe a high to mid 8:3x to be found....I am also waiting to unlock the 4 hour race...

If there were a division of 8 GT500 & 8 GT300 class Super GT cars in single player then I'd use it in Super GT but for now, earn some cash & buy a GT-R, or even NSX & SC430!
