Ok so the first things fist try to make a car that would resemble the specs of a JGTC GT300 - limited from 295hp to 310hp-thanks to s12ken for the info on power restrictions, also no driving aids or nitrous

car does NOT need to be japanese

Run the car at laguna seca and whoever gets the best time gets....... props i guess.

For example i bought a 00 Honda Accord Euro-R and gave it as close to 300 horse power as i could ending up with 302HP, i then bought racing super hard tires (like the JGTC cars come with). I also bought all other modifications that wouldnt make the car have more hp like all the best drivetrain, suspension,and also weight reduction. i ran the car at laguna seca and got a 1:40.something which i know is terrible but im gonna try again with another car.

So let the challenge begin

You might want to use a RD or a MR car. FF cars with high hps cause understeer.

There are two classes in JGTC...
edit: the JGTC was changed to Super GT for the 2005-2006 season to promote international competition

GT300 - limited from 295hp to 310hp
GT500 - limited from 480hp to 505hp

Competition Rules:

More important than the regulations, the aim of the SUPER GT series is to create competitive and intensely exciting racing. The rules of the series are designed to allow a level of parity seldom seen in modern motorsports. A broader range of teams stand a chance to score well in all events through the use of success ballast (weight handicap), and air restrictor allowances for squads scoring less than favorably in preceding races.
These measures create a platform where intense battles between different rival teams take place event-to-event. Let's take a look at how some of these measures work:

First of all, air restrictors. The amount of air going into any combustion engine at any given time determines the level of power of that machine. In turn, the size of the air restrictor is the determining factor when it comes to the amount of horsepower created by the engine. Cars that are heavier than other competing machinery in either class in the SUPER GT series are given allowances to run larger intake restrictors, thereby creating parity with the lighter, more fleet machines. The system incorporated into SUPER GT rules creates an average within each class of competition, allowing any model within its class a fair chance at top results.

In addition to air restrictors, there is a novel form of weight handicap (success ballast) used for the most successful of competitors. This is also to create parity and greater competition as the season moves on. Competitors who are particularly successful in qualifying and races have to add accumulated kilos based on previous success to their machine's overall weight, allowing the hitherto less successful competitors a fighting chance against their formerly quicker rivals. It also means the most successful teams have to continue fighting just as hard as the lower-ranked outfits all the way through the season for any guarantee of the title.

As a result of the regulations, including the balancing of power-to-weight ratio of competing machines and the weight handicap incurred through previous event success, the 'combat efficiency' of each competing car is maximized. This ensures that each race is as lively and exciting as possible.
Consequently, the top ten and more cars within each class regularly qualify well within a second of pole time; further ensuring closely-fought battles throughout the races. This also sets the scene for something the series has become famous for over the years - a bewildering array of possible champions going into the final event of the season. From the participants' side, it's the most thrilling racing imaginable; while from the spectators viewpoint, there is pure entertainment value right to the flag.

Hi evil gremlin: 👍
Looks like a fun comp...but I've got one question??? Must the "Ride" be of Japanese origin??? I've got a Europen car that meets all the other requirements running 1'28 after 3 Laps & I don't want to continue "Tweaking" it if it's NOT a legal entrant! :indiff: ...O.G. :D

EDIT: Too bad there's NOT a JGTC100 Class! Just for kicks I tried my 244HP Levin & turned a 1'36.420! :lol:

dang thats a nice time, and no it does not have to be japanese any country you want

THANX evil gremlin 👍 I'll "Tweak" it a little more then! Meanwhile I found a Japanese Ride that fits the regulations pretty well. Plus I think it would make a GREAT Looking JGTC300 Car! :eek: After about 1/2 Hour:

Ride = MITSUBISHI CZ-3 Tarmac '01
HP = 310
Weight = 1056 kgs
Time = 1'31'194

I'm sure I can get it into the 1'30s but it'll take a better driver then ME to get it in the 1'29s! :lol: ...O.G. :D

Hey OG, it's ok not to use a Japanese car in the JGTC, before they changed to the Super GT... the JGTC allowed Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, and Mossler and even the odd Viper to join in the GT300 Championship, although the Lambo has moved on to the GT500 and the Vipers are no where to be seen, the GT300 is as closely fought as the GT500s.

THANX s12ken: 👍
I know a little bit about the Real JGTC, I was just wondering about evil gremlin's rules. In GT3 I even "Hacked" out the Nomad Diablo Lambo & had it modified so we could race it at "Rome" vs the Zondas!!! ...O.G. :D

I know... I missed out on the Diablo hack because we couldn't get the hardware here :sad: But I like the direction the S-GT (formerly JGTC) is going now, they have international races as well, and they're damn sure much more fun to watch than F1 used to be (when schumi was always champ and with the FIA's anti-innovation rules i.e. going V8 IMO) the S-GT body allows further development in the cars themselves.

very nice time O.G. so far me and you have only raced...actually i re-did my time and managed to get a 1:35.538 out of my car but still ive been beaten by more that 4 seconds but it would be alot more interesting if people would actually race this lol

Seca huh..... Grmlin, is this restricted to just GT300 or is GT500 included. of course as a different set....

THANX "E.G." 👍 Don't lose hope, I'll see if I can stir up a little interest from some other Forums. This is a GREAT IDEA for a race & just about the most Original I've seen. It would really be a shame if it doen't get more action! ...O.G. :D

lol thanks og, and s12ken if you want to you could start another leg of this championship with the gt500 class i guess its the same rules as gt300 just the other power area

Will do! heheh, soon as i get done with my Bro's 30k tuner challenge at Autumn Ring
