Custom Playlist bug?

My custom music seems to be only playing half of the time, otherwise it plays the in-game soundtrack which i can't stand. It started on GT5, i thought it was an update issue but it's still happening with GT6. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?
 
Yes, i'm getting exactly the same and i also can't stand the in-game Japanese blend of techno/punk, utter rubbish! Hope it gets sorted soon.
 
If you go to options, delete installed file, turn off auto install then go delete the day 1 update custom soundtracks seem to work fine. It may work fine with some of the game installed but the day 1 update is definitely screwing up custom soundtracks. So is the installation process and/or installed file. I wish there was a 1 and done install option here.
 
the only method i've found around it is to instantly restart every race (can't be done in championships unfortunatly). Ok so it adds a few seconds each time but i'd rather do that than have my ears tortured with that crap they pile upon us game after game!
 
I read somewhere you have to disable the OST from the game's playlist, otherwise it plays your custom tracks along with the in-game tracks.
 
Thats actually pretty cool. Was wanting those 2 trailer songs from daiki kasho on m playlist. Now if I could only find a legally downloadable copy of the video edit of Outkast - B.O.B. The album version runs too long.

EDIT: BTW This makes my fix the worst thing you could you do. One thing I did notice from the day 1 update is that whatever song was playing last will be the next song up.
 
I can't find any way to disable the OST at all. I wanted to delete every single tune or at least turn them off but there seems to be no option for it. Menu music is annoying too, especialy that one that sounds like Coldplay (shudders!) at the begining of each race!
 
Go to gallery at the far left and inside you'll find music, go to playlist>race then press select and check off all tracks you don't like and then click on "remove from playlist".

Tried it, now it doesn't play anything, i've tried re-selecting my music folder and setting race BGM to 90, It works 100% fine in the options menu but not in gameplay. Not an issue worth deleting install and update data either. Shucks.

Thanks for that, i would never have thought to look in the gallery, another PD quirk haha! Disabled all tunes and now my music loads up fine, brilliant!
 
Check the library, there are songs in there from older GTs like night birds and what to believe. I struggled with this for days because the music is so important to me but I couldn't find anything. At least I was able to contribute for once.

Off Topic:
Is there any way I can get one of yall to start a suggested music thread where people can post their playlists. been wanting to get an all new set going but I'm so far out of the loop where good music is concerned and I can't start threads myself.

Sorry for going off topic.
 
Can't beat a bit of Airbourne, Runnin Wild! Back to the games playlist, i actualy have found one good tune (for my personal tastes anyway), Wolfmother, Highway.
 
Anyone having better luck with the custom BGM? I'd rather not add mine in if it'll just glitch.
 
I've had some luck after deleting the race playlist in the gallery (since I use custom music for races only). It's worth a try.
 
I have noticed on mine sometimes I get an error, seems some of my mp3 files are in an incompatible format and when this happens sometimes it plays nothing and sometimes it will revert to the in game music but then always goes back to my custom music when something triggers another song
 
On the main screen, on the very left, under gallery(I think, correct me if I'm wrong) uncheck all the menu/race/replay music.
I've had it playing for hours and it never used a single in game track.

I can get my music to play in the menus, but never during races. I really like how the current song that was interrupted, restarts when exiting a particular menu screen. Such as car delivery. However, after so many times, it stops. Then I have to go back into options and set up my music again. This stupid machine can't even remember to keep Shuffle "on"!
 
I have mine specified for user music and I have deleted all but 3 of the provided tunes; Underworld, Depeche Mode and the awesome Wolfmother tune, Highway - which I cannot find anywhere to download for my ipod, it seemingly doesn't exist out of GT6!
