The RX7s are fast because its the tune that matters the most and the driver...if you know how to set the car up properly it can be faster or as fast as other cars... its only fast on the straights cause it has less drag than the other cars...
 
The matter of the fact is nate, you don't have to use the GT 86 ;)

Seriously stop complaining this car is faster ect we should ban it lark. I feel sorry for kamy and mole in season 1. They really shouldn't have been penalized for being quick.
Put mole in any car and he's going to be quick with it.
The fact is it comes down to the driver and setup. Setups do make a difference so don't give me that bull they don't!
 
Funny how about 4 or 5 days ago Chris, moleman, priesty and kickstart all agreed the RX7 needs to be banned, and now no one does...
Why should I not use the GT86 mcglone? It's as fast as every car except for the RX7...
 
His point is the fact at it being resurected.. Am I the only person that is actually looking at this from both points?
 
I think Chris wanted to not have to ban any car from the series, and let a car enter if at all possible. The RX7 can be slowed down by not allowing it to run a rear wing, and that results in laptimes being about the same as other cars. So really there is no problem there now. No-one's forcing anyone to use any particular car.

Personally I don't care what car I drive so long as it's not the S2000 (That car handles so badly I can't be arsed to try and sort it out). I would use the RX8 as it's (in my hands) the quicker car, but the RX7 without the wing now is quite lively and fun to drive.
 
We had a very similar problem last series, loads of people complained that the atenza was fast on the straights... We have a chanc to stop this happening again and everyones ignoring me!
 
Yes but Nathan, there will always be a difference between the cars, and with these regs it is a very small gap. We have restricted the RX-7, therefore closing the gap further. I don't see why you are not happy!
 
Because you made me change car! I tuned a new car and now not only is the car I originally wanted to use not banned, but it's faster than my new car!
Why is it only Jimmy that see's where I'm coming from...

Where is the conflict?

Me and Mcglone have been rifling through cars looking for a potential replacement for the RX-8 in case it gets kicked, but hear us complaining?
 
Can you read? My gripe is not that I can't use the RX7, it's that I've had to tune a new car because you banned the RX7
 
So what do you want us to do? Ban a now vaguely acceptable car because the few sessions you put into making it faster have been wasted?
 
Ideally, don't ban then unban a car... It's a tad late for that now so just dissalow the RX7 like everyone originally wanted
 
Moleman claimed it to be fast, and I'd rather not race a car that's faster than others.

What's a good Tsukuba time for these regs?
 
Ah, haha, better clear that up :D - for laptime it's about as quick as the rest. I said it's "fast" because it's a nice car to drive and has good performance all-round, but in terms of laptime it's no faster than anything else.

Edit: Anyone for practice tonight?
 
I reckon a GT86 with a decent tune and decent driver would be every bit as fast as a RX7 with a decent tune and driver on Tsukuba....The RX7s will pull away on the straights cause of its BHP but the GT86 would catch up in the corners the other day on Eiger i had the fastest lap time ina GT86 faster than more powerful cars by over 1.5secs! and im not the fastest driver so a better driver could be faster so i dont see no problem with the RX7s without a wing
 
I'm fully aware of that jack, I've been qualifying first or second every testing session...
It's just a nightmare in the race where you can get close on the corners then lose it all on the straight

anybody gonna be on tonight? Current regs or even MX5'in it up?

(MX5 mini series sounds fun, esp if its stock!)

had my wheel back from repair today (well a replacement at least) so i need to put in some serious time to get used to it again!
