Is it possible to re-map the E-Brake in D1GP? I figured out in a few games how to re-map the E-Brake to the shifter on the DFP, but this game doesn't look like it lets you change the configuration of the wheel. Using the square button to pull the E-Brake while turning the wheel is pretty difficult.

Thanks,

Well, I figured out how to use the wheel and buttons at the same time. I set the wheel to 200 degrees with 60% FF. With these settings, I got turn the wheel and hold the e-brake/clutch buttons at the same time. This game would be awesome with separate controls for these functions. Meanwhile, I still can't get past the tutorial. My drifts always fade out about halfway through the turn. How do I gain enough momentum to keep drifting?

Thanks,

Shoot, I can do it in 900 mode. I longslide all the time in D1GP. I hit the clutch (X) and e-brake ([]) at the same time to extend a drift to make an otherwise impossible link.

How do you position your hands on the wheel to turn it and press X/[] at the same time? Maybe you can give me some pointers. I either slide off the track into the outside wall or stop halfway through the turn. I've had this game for a week and haven't made it past the mandatory tutorial yet. Too bad your DFP+MC2 setup doesn't work with this game.

I use my thumb and just plant it their. Hang on and I'll post a vid by tommorrow.

And I know, BOO TO THE NO DFP + MC2!!! Even TXR: Drift and NFS let me do it!!

Thanks. It would be nice if all games supported multiple controller inputs. There is a wheel that has a separate 4-way shifter with handbrake that is completely programmable, but it's only available outside of the US. I've seen it in many different OEM versions (Manta Compressor Supreme, GameMaster PS8000, Pelican Stingray Turbo, etc..). I can't find a US equivalent anywhere. I thought I struck gold when I found the Pelican OEM, but nobody has it in stock (it worked with the PS and N64). Even someone here has a version of it called the Lord Panther. I'd really love to get my hands on that wheel!

K, no vid, sorry, I made one but it wasn't worth uploading cause it didn't show much but my steering technique.

Anyways, I'll try to explain it better, I set the car up (speed, line, and agle wise) so that when I need to hit the e-brake the car has an angle/path correct so that I can keep my left hand on the correct spot (with thumb on the cross bar by the d-pad) and then I know where the X/[] button are and just use my right thumb to push both buttons at the same time. Took a few laps at Sugo International to perfect this technique. but it always works for me. The way I see it, if you're steering angle is so high (above 180* from center) that you can't have your left hand on the cross bar where it should be, then you don't need to hit the e-brake. You can gas it or hit the regular brake (acts same as an e-brake at high angle) and let the angle of the car slow you down. Once it comes back to a balanced position I'll hit the e-brake. Or if I'm desperate and at high angle I can find it anyways and somehow I usually do. (just glance down at it.)
