Can someone tell me which volume of option this was on? Thanks.

JDM Option volume 1. It's a brief interview/examination of the car. There's not too much indepth information about the car, except what i mostly explained. This DVD is the 1st round for the 2004 season at Irwindale.

hey guys i have a few answers to some of the questions at the beginning of the thread....

1. the option stream Z as its called in the game is built for top speed runs...it has never been in a D1GP competition. if you have ever driven this car in the game you can tell that it would do very poorly due to the fact that it has a massive turbo or two. there is a video somewhere of this cars predecesor doing its top speed run in the desert with daijiro driving, to prove that the car cannot compete in D1 there is a scene in the video showing him shifting into 4th i believe where the car expieriences a virtual power plateau, the cars race crew specifically told him to wait until absolute redline to shift and he shifted about 2,000RPM short which killed a lot of his run...the original car blew a tire around 200MPH and flew off into the sand flipping and stuff...needless to say demolished. the car we see in the game is the second version of this car, "Option Stream Z."

2. Samuel Hubinette, the driver of the mopar perfomance viper comp coupe is a very good driver and has done well in his series, Formula D...with that said, the car he was driving was a huge help...that car has insane power all through its RPM range and is a full tube frame chassis from the factory. the car was banned for that reason mostly, maybe more but i know for sure. the rules of formula d and all drift event bodies say that the car has to have some kind of factory chassis or unibody design, no tube frame race inspired chassis are allowed. Sam drove in the D1GP for Jasper performance in there silver supra, he only competed in the one US event though. kind of a tangent but oh well, my dad works for a dodge dealership in san diego as used car sales manager, about 2 months ago he went to a workshop and demo of the new hemi magnum wagon thingy. the car is ugly ass hell but its got the power to back it apparently. Sam Hubinette was there as part of an exhibition to show the cars handling and stuff. he loaded my stepdad up in the car an nearly made him crap his pants, he did a full on drift show with an auto hemi magnum. this makes me believe that he is a capable driver

3.Rhys Millen is a Jackass...he comes from a family of great racers and he was one of the first to capitolize on a largely US exempt phenomenon. i beleive he still has a lot to prove as far as how well he can hold up against the highly technical Japanese drivers like Imamura in the apex'i FD ,a Ueo in his vastly underpowered yukes hachi, and NOB taniguchi in the HKS silvia.

4. i have a really hard time believing that Rhys PONTIAC GTO is sponsored by DODGE CORPORATION, which doesnt even exist, DaimlerChrysler is a company that could be called, mistakenly, dodge corporation. the simple fact that General Motors Corporation owns Pontiac also makes me wonder why dodge would sponser two cars, and at that, one manufactured by a different company. take a look at the giant pontiac window banners and find a dodge or mopar part/emblem on it too.

Rhys does have the potential to beat those drivers/cars, but it's not like he competes with em every month to know enough about each D1 drivers' style/car abilities on the track. He only competes with Japan's D1 Drivers like twice a year. It's simply just the difference of skill/experience bewteen USA and Japan.

I would like to see him get spanked by Ueo in Odaiba tho.. lol =)

Maybe you should take a look at this.

INFO aka Admins at drifting.com
The production Viper and the Comp Coupe both use the production Backbone square tube space frame (neither actually have a complete tube frame). The Viper Comp Coupe has a rollcage which links into the suspension pickup points to mimic a tube frame.
Got that from this.

@sidewayzinCA

Thank fook somone put everything right as I was about to scream!! 👍

Why does the Option Z have D1 Stickers? Because Option are the main sponsors of D1 and supply all the merchandising etc...

www.v-opt.co.jp

yeah i was reading the begining of the post and getting kinda geated about the stuff some guys were saying. its simple to know that that car cannot be in D1 it cant even do it in the game and i know its a bad way to look at it, but in addition it has never shown up in a D1GP video.

the Z is a advertising car for option who has exclusive rights to video at all D1GP events. thats why it has the sticker on the spoiler. no other company is allowed to sell footage from D1.

you will also see that every D1GP car is running the mandatory video option, "v-opt.co.jp" stickers.

lol, ketis how can it be a d1 car if it has never competed in the d1.it is a top speed car not a drifter. IT.....IS......NOT...A....D1.........CARRRRRRRRRRR
