Da Coppers!

Well, I've been driving for about 2 years now, got my licence just over a year ago. So far, I haven't gotten any tickets and haven't been pulled over (anyone who's ridden with me would call bull on that, though). But, the cops are getting harder to spot! Around here (Bay Area, California) they've stopped using the big rack of shiny lights on top. I think that they just have some lights in the grille or something. It seems that this change happened recently, just in the past year or so. Has anyone else noticed something like this where you are?

Does the term "Unmarked police car" mean anything to you?

By the way, care to explain the "Homepage" in your profile?

i hate how cops hide the speed cameras....they are just revenue raisers. i hate speed cameras

and whats with the homepage?

What homepage? I dont have a homepage. The homepage on this comp is Google, and I don't know html for beans.

And they're not unmarked......they're still black and white with the markings on the side and have the pusher bumper thingie.

O dang......I did have a hompage......

Well.....I sure didnt put that there.......

But its gone now........I hope

hey......thats not cool......it wont go away.

I gonna go change computers now......

Someone help? plz?

Unmarked Police cars cant do jack, they can just call other cops to do somthing, they cant pull you over. At least where im from

I live in West San Jose, and drive to school in Mountain View every day. I know a lot of people in Los Altos that say that the cops there just sit around with nothing to do but go chase after people going too fast over the hills.

Anyways.....Anyone know of decent spyware or anti-virus software that I can get a trial version of? My other computer is starting to creep me out.

Well, I have LavaSoft's Ad-Aware already, and it's running on my other comp right now. But what's that housecall thing? Home medical care?

An unmarked motorway car pulled my boss over for 106mph. He received a 6 month ban.

I was being followed by an unmarked car on the M25 not so long back. The sun was low on the horizon ahead, and for a fraction of a second I spotted he had concealed lights behind his radiator grille, thanks to a reflection from the sun. He had to go find someone else... (I wasn't actually speeding per se anyway, but he'd become interested in me for some reason).

Unmarked cars in the UK are typically dark blue, silver or black Vauxhall Vectras, Omegas and Volvo T5s.

In London they seem to have an abundance of unmarked 5 series, in simmilar unasuming colours.

Rule number 2 of driving is "Do not drive in London". So I don't :D

Northamptonshire have as a motorway car - get this - a red Ferrari 360 Modena on a private plate. What the f(un)? Do they not have a better way of spending money than a) a private plate b) a £120,000 sports car c) a £120,000 sports car with no room for emergency equipment like cones, signs and the rest d) a £120,000 sports car which cannot fit arrested persons in, so they have to call out a £25,000 Volvo to do the job e) 12 mpg?

Humberside, as was, had a classic shape Scooby. Now that scared the crap out of the boy racers.

This is were Radar Detectors come in handy. It takes common sense to figure that out...

I've been pulled over by an unmarked as well. Most cars are running the low profile light bars that are only a few inches thick so they're really hard to see, but have very bright LED lights.

And I don't see how any ad program on your computer would insert porn ads on a message board...

Well it's either drive or stand out in the cold waiting for a train that always gets delayed when I make a special effort to arrive early at the station.

I've seen several Impreza cop cars and I think they also use the estate version. I remember reading that they were tweaked by prodrive before given to the police. I'm pretty sure one constabulary has an Escort Cossie as well. There was a massive website that had all the different cars used for each constabulary, but it's been taken down. Or I just can't remember how to get to it.

A lot of states use Chevy Camaros or Ford Mustangs as pursuit cars, which aren't quite as bad as a Ferrari, but still inpractical for any use other then pursuit. A few go even farther with unmarked Corvettes and Vipers.

Yeah, that's cute, now what does it have to do with the thread, genius?

Now, Im quite sure you can figure that one out for yourself. You asked, I answered. Now you have to think about your own question.

This thread does have to do with COPPERS. So if he wants to post what COPPERS drive then so be it. In Nh and Mass and some of Maine the drive Chevy Malibu's.

*sigh*...

What does one's opinion of a particular car have to do with what kind of vehicles the police use?

:odd:

My question is, why do people ask a question when they already know the damn answer...

Because I'd hope you'd also realize that were a moron.

You can't judge people on the internet. You don't even know me. So, good luck. Living your life on the net.
