I might be missing something but...

How the hell are people using the BMW M4 in the N300 Brands Hatch race? I've tried reducing the engine power to its minimum and increasing weight, but it still stays as an N400.

Have you upgraded your M4's power to Level 2? Because with level 1, you may not be able to decrease the power-slider enough to be accepted as N300. With Level 2 tuning, the interval of increase/decrease power becomes larger.
