We all know that GT5 will be getting licensed NASCAR machines this time around and being so it opens up the opportunity for PD to possibily include past spec machines.

What that in mind do you think it would be appropriate to include the Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3?

Sure. And put in Richard Petty's car along with the other nascar legends.

Do you think you're funny or something?

Of course, would be a nice tribute and great for fans. 👍

I think he's hilarious.

But I see nothing wrong with including, it's not inappropriate or anything. Along those lines a lot of historic race cars should be included in the game and it would be cool to even have events where you raced other historic cars from the same series. Think about a Le Mans style race with cars from 1960 till today. It'd be an outclassed event more than likely but pretty cool to see how everything has changed.

Thats a great idea ! I want Colin Mcrae's and Richard Burn's cars too:tup:

Including those cars would be a great way to honor the race heroes from the past.
I don't see anything inappropriate about that. I would love to see a Senna's, Earnhardt's, McRae,s or if we get Porsche Stefan Bellof's car.

That would be pretty cool but I am not sure if they will add the older style cars to the game.

They could just throw the #3 scheme onto a COT.

I also don't get what would be inappropriate about it.

I would think that NASCAR fans would embrace the inclusion of the car, so yeah.

It's not really inappropriate. The problem is that when Earnhardt Sr. died, it was really the biggest loss in NASCAR history. He was a very popular man, and the only driver to tie with Richard Petty for 7 NASCAR championship wins. In case you didn't know, right after Earnhardt Sr. was pronounced dead, they retired his car and replaced it with a new car with a new paint job and the number 29. His #3 was also never allowed to be used in NASCAR again.

But more on topic, I think that including his car would be a good thing. It really would be a good tribute to his fans and the sport.

His #3 was also never allowed to be used in NASCAR again.

NASCAR doesn't retire numbers, RCR just chose to switch numbers. They still have the rights to it as well which is why you don't see it. Although they did use it in 2009 for Austin Dillon(Richard Childress's grandson).

I posted a video in another thread of Kevin Harvick winning Atlanta in 2001 a few weeks after Earnhardt died, and in that race he was using the car that Earnhardt had won with the year before.

I would love to have Dale's car in GT5,Maybe also Richie Evans(Modified Driver),Richie had 9 NASCAR Whelen Modified Championships(With 8 in a row),4 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Regional Championships,He also had 26 Track Championships

I think it would be appropriate to include it if it's a show of respect for him.

I'd be all for it. We should get Davey Allison's 28 Texaco Havoline car with the base white and chrome numbers too. And Alan Kulwicki's number 7 Hooters car too. There are so many good cars, piloted by great drivers that PD could add, though it would more likely just be a COT skin if at all, which is just as well I suppose. And if anything, I'd guess it would be DLC and not something included, though I could see the #3 car being included in the game. It would be neat to download new skins though.

Trust me, if they include a livery editor you will see all of those cars included eventually, I know this because the Forza 3 scene is already booming with NASCAR paintjobs (My Site has a complete section for it), and NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is still being painted and modded for 8 years after it's release.

If they include computer based editing like EA did, even if only for race cars or just the COT, it would explode into a gigantic scene just like N09 was back in the day.

On the topic of Earnhardt's 3, I'd personally love to see it in the game, along with Jeff's old schemes and some of the classics. If it isn't appropriate to include the 3 then merchandise companies have a lot of explaining to do ;)

From,
Chris.

Every car, no matter what the circumstances, should go in the wishlist.

I think it would be great to have 2 or 3 classic drivers in the game, Dale Sr., Richard Petty, and David Pearson come to mind. Having said that, I wouldn't want their actual 70's/80's/90's cars in the game, I would want them to have their old paint schemes on a new COT. Otherwise they would serve no purpose in the game other than as a tribute,

Yeah, I can't believe how one can create a thread about whether or not ONE specific car will be included.

That's not what I interpreted from that comment. If you think this thread is pointless, then report it. That way it will be closed.

I tend to agree with that. Maybe have a COT for GT mode and the actual cars unlocked only in arcade mode. Then, you would have the experience of driving those legendary cars, without them taking up a space in your career garage.

I did right away, and the fact it's still open is proof of that this community is slowly going down hill, sadly.

Members don't care about the rules and moderators are not as picky as they used to be.

Well, if you don't like it then you're always welcome to go somewhere else.

First I thought it would be awesome to include Earnhardt's #3 as he's probably my most favorite driver ever, but now I think it would be inappropriate to have it in, I'd rather don't have my memories spoilt ( if that makes sense? ).

I hope we get livery editor tho. :D

Well, Earnhardt's #3 is a little more significant than other single cars because he was a legendary NASCAR driver who suffered an untimely demise on the oval.

Most would reason that the regulation of the recently implemented NASCAR HANS (Head and neck restraint) system was a direct result of his death, which is good for every NASCAR racer.

Of course it wouldn't be inappropriate -- it's more of a sign of respect than anything else. PD included 4 of Senna's F1 cars in GT3, including the one he died in, although of course they had custom PD liveries and not the real ones. Kaz was highly aware of Senna and he's still his favourite F1 driver today, however I'm not sure how much Kaz knows about NASCAR and Earnhardt's true impact on the sport in the US. I'm not even a NASCAR fan but I think it would be great for his #3 car to make it into the game. If not and there is a livery editor, I suppose that would be good enough though (not the same specs and design of course but the paint design at least).

There weren't any problems when they included the F094/S - a re-imagining of the Williams FW16, the car Ayrton Senna was killed in - so I don't see why there would be problems with Earnhardt's car.
