Damage got me worrying....

im hoping for realistic damage and nice and realistic visual damage to all cars (dents and scratches). And of course, performance. If a guy bangs up in the rear of another car then the radiator should be busted and his engine should burn down. Would be nice but maybe kill some fun :)

And with coolant fluids spewing out from under a bent hood with steam and stains to the windscreen so they will need wipers too with washer fluids. Oh while were at it make sure the reverse lights work and signal lights that way we can let everybody know we are pulling to the side. Opps forgot about the hazards light too. :dopey: :sly:

PD will probably tame the track (Seattle, if it does appear in GT5) to accommodate the new physics/damage. Hopefully, there will be suspension damage as part of the mechanical damage to the cars. And if the jump at Eiger is any indication, PD still needs to improve on how the suspension of the cars react while in the air and how much more forceful the landing must be especially when it comes to the FFB in the steering wheel.

Well if that jump at Eigar was taken IRL with any stock car, it would end up very bad indeed!:nervous: Only specially prepared rally cars can withstand such punishment, and I hope that will be reflected in the full game!

I'm not worried about that. Yes i think it will maybe occasionaly cause some funny situations when noobs don't brake when you do in an online race and cause a crash. However guys relax pd would not make such an elemental mistake.

plus what about race driver grid, it has probably one of the best damage engines in gaming an and what happens when you drive San Fransisco.

RELAX MATE IT WILL ALL BE OK!!

I just hope when I roll my convertible over the barrier the little drivers head pops off realistically, with the helmet bouncing off down the road spewing blood everywhere.

Damage: It's not just about the cars :D

Trust me on this I will keep trying until I can flip and land his head right on the sharp edge of the armco. We're talking coolest GT replay evar!

lol

Lets face it, we all tried to have the biggest highside crash in MotoGP and slam the rider into the ground in the most horrible way possible :ouch:

Me and my mates used to round off an evening's V-rally splitscreen action with a - who can do the most barrel rolls - competition.

And if you wanna see pain grab a copy of Tony Hawkes or SSX (that reminds me when is PS3 version of that due?) Those games are a fine study in the art of sore :ouch:

There a lot to be said for wanton destruction :sly:

I'm s**t at skate boarding games but I did have SSX 3 and SSX Tricky, awesome games and can't wait until they bring one out on PS3. I went on a boarding holiday with mates after getting hooked on SSX, turns out I'm not quite as "bouncy" as the SSX characters :ouch:

Good point.

What will happen when a car flies over a barrier too?

Will thin air cause damage? Will it fly over? or will it just bounce off an imaginary wall completely unharmed like the previous GT's?

It will be interesting to see how far Polyphony have gone, since we are in the 2010's now. THE FUTURE!

Edit: As we know there will be physical damage that could total a car. I think Polyphony will include cars getting stuck in gravel traps, walls, barriers and even flying up and over the circuit boundries. Well I hope they do. As someone's already mentioned, it's great fun doing massive jumps/crashes/rolls after some serious racing. It's a game afterall.

IMO having jumps on road courses as big as the Eigen one is ridiculous. Jumps and crests that cause the car to go that airborne should be left to rallying where crests are intended to be. As I'm sure someone mentioned already, a car should be totaled after a jump like that if damage is really to be in GT5.

Yes, but you forgot to show the jump after landing. :sly:

Well, in an interview with KY, he said that damage features WILL include tires rubbing against the wheel well, so that may apply to the "jump damage".

I loved the early Tony Hawks games maybe up to the one with the airport and the cruise ship (3?) after that they went downhill. The pain in the later games was often accompanied by wierd floaty physics which looked crap imo.

If you want real virtual pain(lol), there's no better than GTA4 and it's euphoria physics/animation engine!:D;)

p.s. There's a lot of these vids on youtube!:)

Production cars damage modeling are really frustrating until now, hitting a wall at 300Kph and getting only scratches, very bad. At least this is a go on the damage system, it will certainly be improved for the next titles, but we can't comment anything on this until we get a more detailed demonstration, which will happen only when the game releases, so there's a lot of room for PD surprise us, let's hope they do.

I don't think we will ever see full, realistic damage for production cars. Car maker will never want to see their car crumpled up in a game and hurt their image.

Which is rather strange, considering that cars do wreck.

Honestly, manufacturers should just get over it, it's not like we're not going to buy the car if we see it wrecked. (That's their main fear.)

Great game but that's got a bit of wierd floaty bouncy physics for the pain too, plenty room for improvement.

You`re right but this the stupidest thing i`ve heard. Manufacturers really think we wont buy a car cuz we`ve seen it (the car) destroyed, fliping or rollingover on a videogame?👎:ouch::crazy:

I've heard some rumors about the manufacturers avoiding to show their cars on fire, for some reason, marketing departments tremble if they do see any of their cars on fire, because they will show an image of a not well made and unsafe car. Gallardos are seen burning very often, you can find a lot of pics on wrecked exotics for example, even so, they're the most sell lambo of all times, maybe this helps customers to consider the car really "hot". :D
