For the past few weeks I've been driving on damage-on servers, preferably damage set to heavy.
I've found that idiots tend to avoid those servers because they can't drive like idiots in there.

The thing that I like most is that in damage on races, there is an element of 'tactics' involved. Risc vs gain.
Starting grid in reversed order of the qualification. Fastest in last place.
Trying to fight your way to P1.

Short races are fun, need to drive fast and risc more because you only got 3 laps to go from P12 to P1... But risc too much and you crash.
Risc too little and some captain slow is gonna beat you (oh the humiliation!)..

Also noticed that people in damage heavy servers are much more mature, more love for the game. Even if there is a massive start crash, most people remember it;s a game and those 3-5 lap races only take like 10 minutes max, after which they get a new chance to glory. Makes people more relaxed.

For me: Damage heavy, every steering help off (especially skid recovery force) except ABS. Love it !

So.. whats your view on this?
You like damage-on servers?

Damage on, depending on length of race and number of laps.

Nurmburgring 24 hours track for one lap can be lonely if you wreck early!

Damage on light if I want to 'penalize' bad driving; but not penalize so much as to lose a lap to the incident free racers; especially on the ovals; or the long tracks like Nurnburgring and Sarthe

If im in a server with my PSN friends then damages is usually set to weak (heavy with a lot of players seems to lag a bit)

If im in a public server which isnt too often I prefer it off because if penalties are not on a lot of idiots ram into you slamming you into a wall which causes you heavy damage through no fault of your own while they seem to drive off unscathed...thats imo anyway maybe a different experience online for others

I personally don't care for damage as I think it takes away from the fun a little, particularly on oval races. That being said, if I'm in room with people I can trust to not punt me off the track whenever they attempt a pass, light damage is not really a big deal.

I agree using damage setting keeps idiots away but I hate the way if its set to heavy your race is effectively over on the first corner if somebody bumps you even when its not your fault, that's not much fun, infact it makes my blood boil!

Damage off, and I try to race with people I trust. 👍 But I understand (and agree) with your reasoning there. If I'm letting in strangers, having damage turned on can be helpful.
