This thread is going to be tooooooo funny once it gets to a couple of pages and people don't realize this is an April Fool's joke.

lol. but its 15. march in place where I live.. lmao :sly:

Just reading my GameInformer that came in the mail today, and there was a snippet in the news section that caught me completely off guard, considering GTplanet is usually where I get all my GT info first. I can't find a link to an online article and I don't want to quote it word for word, but here is the good stuff touched on.

Gran Turismo 5
Gets Even More Realistic

..."Damage is an intigral part of racing, and we're taking it to the next level." says studio president Kazunori Yamauchi. ...

...This update gives every player a new garage that just holds two cars - then the fun begins. "Car customization is so realistic that only an actual mechanic could possibly understand what's happening" says Yamauchi.

Gamers who aren't familiar with how cars work can still interact with their vehicles by inspecting the garage floor for mysterious stains and leaks, trying to suss out why the "check engine" light won't stop blinking, and popping the hood to stare impotently at the bewildering mess of an engine. Once their car stops running or gets in a wreck, players must turn to the people on their friends list, asking for a virtual ride to the game's microtransaction-supported repair shop. "We're intent on bringing players the most realistic experience on the market today" Yamauchi insists. "This is what driving is all about."

that last part sounds too weird. imho, ymmv
:odd:

i agree with posts above about this being an April Fool's joke.
:)

Sounds like it could be from the "Game Infarcer" which they do once in a while, and it will say PARODY on the bottom, but they ussually use fake close names, not real ones.
Could be real but who knows, I just want that freaking pit location as phototravel !

Just so you can all see how dumb you have to be to believe this.

I'm good.

I'm more interested with the Strattling gun I have to say

Cataclism

no one is dumb, PD and SONY sayd many hardcore things that never happened (like all others like Microsoft)

just hoped damage model would get improved, it would be great update.

Definently Aprils fool article!

But yet again, I shouted fake when we saw pre release cowers of GT5 stating something like "Cars smoke and spark".

Only time will tell, but Kaz has previously taked about the idea of "free roaming". Doubt we'll see any of that before GT6.

he was pointing out the fact it says

"P A R O D Y"

What's funny yet sad is in about 2 months there will be people complaining,"Where is that update with the auto shop PD promised? They never do what they say. I'm done with this game."

First, the magazine was out before the earthquake.

Second... really?

I never said the magazine knew about it. Just saying it's crappy considering the situation. Not crappy in their part but as in it sucks when you see the grim reality we never expected.

What I mean is, it's sad what happened overthere. I'm sure a lot of employees were affected.

Read the date on the front of the cover. I bet it's April 1st. EGM used to do this too, and they always had the date about a month early from the actual date.

Edit: Scratch that. XD I saw the article on page 2.

True, but it's not like the joke was "PD plans to include boats" or something. It's fairly (completely) unrelated to the earthquake.

Well this thread made me laugh. How many times did people have it pointed out to them it was a joke/parody and they still came back, hoping for an update to make GT5 even more tedious!!

Good lord. Game Informer does a segment in their April issue each year called "Game Infarcer", where they make painfully obvious jokes and fake news stories. They don't try to be the least bit sneaky about this. They come right out and say "all of this stuff is fake" and even go so far as to put the word PARODY at the bottom of the page in case you just flipped to that page without recognizing it. And yet, in the Dear GI section of the May issue each year, we get to read a dozen letters from people who somehow fell for it, while the GI staff again has to print its prepared statement about how everything was quite clearly fake.
