Dangerous Advert

Has anyone experienced that advert banner on this website (usually at the top of the forums page) that flashes red to white and vice-versa constantly saying "If this flashes you are a winner". It hurts my eyes as it is but what about the epileptic GTP members. It could be very dangerous to them.

It's annoying anyways, Jordan or any mod, do you have any way of controlling what adverts appear?

Just go to GTP lite. I think that it doesnt have any ads.

I would think GTP Lite would have ads. Jordan wouldn't be making money off of those people, and as it is, he doesn't know how he can pay for this months bandwidth. If the people on GTP Lite don't want ads they can switch to GTPremium, just like those of us on Default Style Sheets.
 
I can disable certain ads, but I'm going to need more details. Please post the name of the advertiser the next time you see it.
 
Did we get a new banner advertisement company. The new ads seem larger and pixelated. Most of the flash or move in some way as well.

Yeah, the ad is really bad. I don't even get sick or have seizures from moving or flashing games, but that ad makes me feel sick.

It would be better if that ads contrast was better and it wasn't so bright.
 
It's $39.99 a month. Surely that doesn't bust old piggy?

(And yes, I agree - remember Dale Earnhardt. Personally my favourite NASCAR driver ever, though I don't really follow it because I don't get it telecast here.)

Normally it wouldn't, but considering I don't have a job because I'm at college it does .. I'm trying to save up what I can .. however once I get my tax returns back GTPremium will me mine.

Oh .. and if it doesn't bust the piggy, then why don't you have one? :lol:.

One what? Premium subscription? I doubt the folks would be all that pleased if I said "can I have $39.99 to pay for more features and less ads on a site I visit to help the webmaster keep the forums online?"

I lose my premuium account soon...

Then the epilepsy-inducing ads will come for me...and smite my vision after long nights of gaming and websurfing...

Why are ad makers so goddamned vile? They don't see/care about the danger that kind of ad could pose???

Some of these ads are really terrible. Especially when you're checking the internet in a dark room and the ad starts flashing crazily in your face.

I've been using Ad-block as well, and will be doing so until I have enough money to spare to pay for GTP Premium. I'm also in college without a job, so money isn't something I have large amounts of. :(
