Dash Cluster for PC?

I've been doing some research and have found a couple of guys who did it. They hooked up servos to a small circuit board with a usb connection and plugged it into the pc. Used a small psu for the electrical components (lights and the such). You guys think doing the software will be a pain in the arse? I wanted to see also if I could rig up not only the Tach+Speedo, but the Boost gauge in the cluster, or an aftermarket boost gauge..you guys think it will be compatible with the newer games like NFS:MW or U2? The guys that did it got theirs to work for Nascar 2003 (Gag).

I don't know how the hell you would set that up to run with the game but thats for you to find out.

Im guessing unless you know what your doing, that is going to be hard as hell to even think of accomplishing.

Not that impossible...check this out.

http://realvirtualcar.blogspot.com/Look at the "Got the Gauges electronics to work, OH Yes!" post 3/4 of the way down the page. Click the pictures of the needles in that post to see the videos.

They have 2 videos of the needles working, and not only that but the odometer also worked. Its not that hard, the hardest part would be extracting the data from the game so that it reads out on the cluster.

HOLY BATMANS UNDERWEAR !...

That is one seriously awesome project !... Way to Go !..
ATM I am collecting ideas to work on over the summer. I have a cockpit with 5.1 surround sound, possibly even custom built motion platform, but i def want to look into this cluster.

OMG!!
Thats amazing! Can u imagine playing Gran Turismo 4 on that? Or rather, playing any game at all on that!

Most people opt for surround sound or a 22 inch monitor. Talk about going the whole nine yards.

Now where can I get one? :dopey:

If all goes as planned i should be playing on a nice Logitech surround sound set and a XX" screen. XX because i can make the projector as big as 100".

The flight simulator community has been doing similar but much more complicated projects for years now.
