hi all

i was comparing my data and the top player's from the Eiger seasonal with the e-runner. Down the main straight my engine rpm at one point is only 6 rpm lower than hes, but my wheels speed is 96 compared to hes 156...., even weirder is when my engine rpm is HIGHER, my wheel speed is 79 vs. 129. i would understand this if there's tuning allowed but its not available in this seasonal.

i dont understand whats going on, am i missing something here?

Unit conversion. Multiply his 156 by 0.62 (the number of miles per kilometer) and you'll get your 96.

So when I compare my data to a reference, the data logger doesn't know that I probably want to use the same units for speed.... At least this isn't a glitch.... or is it

Wow, so the replays actually lock in the creating player's units?

It seems like it would be more complicated to do it that way than the other, given that they already have to be running a conversion on either miles or km to display in the first place. Why not take the data pre-conversion for storage in the replay? Because PD, apparently. :)

Were you in different gears?
If you have a lower gear you'll get less speed out of the RPM

Unfortunately no, the car in question was the monster tajima car from the seasonal event, one gear. It is just the conversion factor, which I find baffling that the data logger doesn't do it automatically.

I noticed when you compare cars the current cars wheel speed is alot less while the referance car is equal to It's MPH.

But it reads MPH though?

Datta logger is My new Gf <3 <3 love it:gtpflag:.

ya i noticed that too, it does say mph. it just complicates things when the reference isnt converted to the same units, because you cant see how different your data is compared to the reference, when everything else is in the same units.

Why should the data logger work better than anything else in this game?:cheers:

This happens when comparing your own replays to, so it's not just that the base unit is locked in when it's saved.
