Datamined car list

So basically you're already throwing in the towel.

Of course, but if they were in the game, we wouldn't need a dataminer to tell us they're in the game
There is a big difference between a car being "in" the game as a 3D model but not currently available to users and cars being written in a text file in the game.

The former is much more likely to actually appear in game publicly in future compared to the text list.

As Famine has already covered, there are similar text entries in past games of all kinds, some eventually materialize, some don't.

In short what we have here is a list of cars that might appear in GT7. Or might not. Nothing more.

It was actually playable in Kaz's version of the game
Depending on your game version (not PAL), you could actually extract the car with external means and use it in the game - and the Lancia Stratos and, in NTSC/UC, Lamborghini Nomad Diablo (it was actually in the NTSC/J version).

However there were some cars whose names you could find in the game code - Bugatti EB110, Bugatti EB18 concept, Mazda RX-Evolv, and some others I don't recall - but only had names in the game code and could not be used at all. Which I suppose would be a more appropriate example

Either that or we really are just sat here waiting for PD to update GT3 to add the EB110.

Would it be great if these cars get added to the game? Sure.

But anyone can format a car wishlist and pretend it's leaked code.

I too have datamined the game just now and found these:

gr86_special_edition_22
gr86_23
gr86_24
gr86_25
gr86_cup_22
gr_supra_manual_22
gr_yaris_22
brz_sti_22

For such a long list of coming cars isn't anyone suspicious of the very low number of newer cars?

That fact sadly leans more into a game with plenty of code or data from 25 years of development than a list of cars around the corner the only exception being the newest cars... Maybe 🦄

I still hold out hope that the Ford Escort GTi finally gets added to GT2 :dopey:

Question, is this even legit? Where did you find this to begin with? And what makes it so believe able?

I mean I ain't trying to say that it's fake but i just find it a bit odd.

And look, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the cars might actually end up being added to the game. I mean half of the listed cars are just cars from GT6.

6 months ago an Avantime was listed for sale on eBay where the seller claimed it had been scanned by PD to be included in GT7. There were screenshots of the supposed 3D posted on this Reddit post.
The MP4/4 mention also matches this mention here.
Well whatever the reason, it doesn't add up. The 3d program the model was shown in isn't what PD uses. Secondly, why would PD even send him those files?
The software shown in the Reddit post regarding the Avantime, PolyWorks, is not a 3D modeling application - but rather one designed to deal with point cloud/laser scans. The data captured from it would have likely be converted to Maya for it to be usable as a GT-ready model.

---

Also there's no mention of 993 GT2 (Race) on that list, despite this - the 037 was scanned at one point, though, but then again neither the Veloster or the 2012 Prius GT300 are there.

IF this list was fully reliable, then I'd just be bummed that they'd add the 2000 GT NSX over the 1999.

Yes, because he is going to go to the effort of 3D scanning an Avantime to try and sell his £4,000 car.
You wouldn't need to - just download a file from TurboSquid and pretend.

PD has never, in the entire history of scanning people's own cars, sent out 3D modelling files to the owners. Completed models in a still image, sure, but actual 3D models? Given how incredibly guarded they are about all of their processes? Never happened.

Because they used the same source.

It still makes no sense that PD would have sent him these files. Why? As proof they did it? They're not some random dude on Fiverr, there is no reason for them to send these files. Ask yourself why we've never seen anyone else posting them of their car scans. Two reasons, either they never got them, or if they did, they were contracted not to just put them on the internet to help sell your car.

Lotus unlikely to come back. The other cars... there's a chance, let's hope they come. It's a very solid list and it covers most of what's needed, really.

Worth mentioning that the "RGT_16" is a Ruf which has never been in the franchise. If Ruf is allowed to coexist with Porsche, there's some fun stuff.
I don’t know about the rgt_16…
but ruf has made a lot of gran turismo appearances, including sport and 7, even along side Porsche.

My take on these leaks? Expect quite a few of these cars to come to the game. Perhaps not all and you can easily guess which are the least likely (Lotus for example, due to licensing).

I noticed someone (not Nenkai) has a very strong grudge against the "certain YouTuber" and thought it was funny, because he was late to the party when he posted that video and had little impact on the spreading of the leak.

Have a look at the number plate on the 3D scans - K6 BRP matches that of the car for sale.

Actually, I can personally confirm the scanning process PD use. Kaz’s team visited me over a year ago now. I remember it well.

They scanned a pitiful handful of coins I found down the back of the sofa, and thanked me for helping them develop their roulette prize graphics.
