Dating banner ad

Forgot to renew my premium membership and the first ad I see looks like a 4 year old made it in MSpaint. Something relating to plenty of fish in the sea or some crap along those lines. It has a ton of typos, Horrible sentence structure, and breaks the AUP of this very website. I'm surprised, mostly because of how professional the team keeps this site.

This ad belongs on a backyard porn site. Not GTPlanet! :dopey:

This needs to be in the site feedback forum.

I logged out to see ads, but I don't see the one you are referring to. Could you post a screenshot?

Found the ad for the 1st time at the bottom of the page, talk about coincidences
Untitled-1.png

I dont see the big deal, its just plain, not "drawn by a four year old".
I also saw commercials on national networks for this site, so its not a back alley scam

While that one is both lazy and lame, I suspect there is a second one out there that the OP is referring to. I think it starts out "Hello, my name is Marcus and I created Pletyoffish.com ..." or some such.

Oh, ok. I really didnt know. It does seem really cheesy.
And god damn I can not read a single thing you type now without hearing it in Castle's voice

How ironic I read this thread and the ad is at the bottom.

That's it I'm never coming to this site again. :sly:

Hang on might be better just to get a lifetime premium membership, on that does anyone know what's the best way to pay for it (Visa, Paypal)? By that I mean does one or the other charge fees to the site?

The more money that goes into GTPlanet's kitty the better.

Cheers Shaun.

Edit: Answered via PM.

Thanks for the heads-up on the ugly ads, I've blocked PlentyOfFish. For the record, I only personally approve a tiny handful of the banners which run on the site - the rest of impression delivery is handled by Google's AdSense service, which is entirely automated (advertisers bid on the inventory of each site in Google's network).

On the subject of PlentyOfFish, though, there's actually a reason their ads are so ugly. The story behind the company is really fascinating (it's run almost entirely by one man), and the "tackiness" of almost everything that he does is, supposedly, by design. Here's an interesting article for more.
