this could get interesting!

David Coulthard has been under pressure since the beginning of the season with his teammate Kimi Raikkonen getting the upper hand on him most of the time.

The Scotsman had his share of problems this year, including accidents, reliability issues with his car and low qualifying positions. All these difficulties didn't help his race performances but Formula One is unforgiving. The fact remains that Kimi Raikkonen is a whopping 29 points ahead of him in the championship.

The McLaren driver's contract is finishing at the end of the season and even if Ron Dennis is famous for his loyalty towards his drivers, the disappointing season of David Coulthard has led to recent rumours that Juan-Pablo Montoya might be heading to McLaren next season to replace him.

"I’ve heard the rumours and speculation," said David Coulthard to British tabloid The Sun. "but it’s only a question of waiting for the team to make an announcement on my contract." Even if Coulthard is very confident about his situation, there is no sign that McLaren are in a hurry to make a final decision.

It opens up a place whit a good team:D
Who knows :D

HeHe

if they do let him go it will be good for F1 because the top teams have been the same for a few years. This will also benefit Mark Webber because it is said he will take JPM's spot at BMW.

Yeah but Webber signed a contract with Jag until the end of 2006 isn't it. I know contracts are useless nowadays and aren't worth the paper they're written on, but it has to mean something.

It was confirmed a couple of days ago that Coulthard had been signedf for another year - which could also be seen as damning with faint praise.

I'm starting to doubt there'll be any movement in the top teams for 2004 - 2005 is a different story...
