I am quite sure that we won't have night races, at least not for all the cars. If its not confirmed that will be 1000 cars with cockpit views, what about all the 1000 cockpits with the lights on? Would be 2000 cockpits!

However, if PD is smart then can put day/night cycles in some especial races with selected cars (could I call them premium cars?).

In GT5 Prologue, both the tuned corvette & the Z06 had their headlights &
taillights on all the time. :)

What about the reverse lights? Will they have street lights? How about the buildings will they turn on the lights when it gets dark? Will we have turn signal light or hazards lights? wouldn't want a car with damage on the side of the road not too have emergency hazards lights? How about a safety car(Pace Car) oh no! gotta have a tow truck! what about punters oh! gotta have the Popo (Police) will the popo have flashing lights?

Damn everybody chill out only less than a week to TGS. :scared::nervous::crazy::indiff::sick::guilty::sly::):dunce:

See, I was wondering if maybe the WRX was just one of those cars with daytime running lights. It's fairly common these days, but I don't know if it's a feature of the WRX specifically.

I don't think its a mistake or a photoshop, its headlights. My theory with why only the Subaru has Headlights on and not others is that in the Gamescon build, the Subaru is the main demo car itself. Might just be me but it actually seems to be alittle more detailed then the AI cars. Same possible reason only it has damage. So in all, The Subaru itself is the official Demo car and it makes some sense that it happens to be the only car the player can use. Of course, thats my belief anyway.

It's not photoshopped, thats a direct screenie from the Gamersyde 720P replay they got at Gamescom.

The Corvette Z06 in GT5P is doing the same.

Yep and we had headlight effects on ALL cars in GT4 too.
Hong Kong, SSR5, Curcuit de la Sarthe with chicanes, Motegi...

I dont think its a hint at something, maybe they just did it because the effect looks cool and they wanted to show off a bit. Or they just put a version from the car in there with the lights on and just didnt care.

Its too complex to be Photoshopped in my opinion, and GT4 already had cars with working lights on selected tracks as "G.T.Ace" already said, so I voted for "A mistake in lighting", but if i believed in a god, i'd pray that it would be a hint dropped by PD and we get glorious night races! :sly:

Would be great if you could toggle the lights on and off during the race like you could during the replays in GT4

LOL, You did??? Never saw it:dunce:

Yeah, discovered it on accident one day while watching a replay at Circuit De La Sarthe. You pressed up on the D-pad and you could toggle the Headlights

I'm hoping that would be the purpose of the horn button. So when you honk the guy in front it will also flash the lights. 👍

Its not a Photoshop and its also no "mistake", watch the GamesCom videos.
Its a design choice, just like with the Corvette in GT5P.

WTH? Damn, i didnt knew that.

Wow, I'm the only one that discovered that?

The up-button on the d-pad always advanced the camera to the car in front for me, I've never experienced differently.

Correction: I meant the R1 button, got th D-pad mixed up some how:dunce:

I went out on a limb and voted for "dropping a hint." I have no idea if it's coming or not, but a few nice surprises are coming, I'm sure of that.

Maybe rally cars will just have headlights on all the time? I voted other because I don't necessarily think it's any of the above... it's a case of it's just what it is...

Ok, Alot of people are picking the mysterious "other" option. And didnt we already get confirmation on this? even a video... They even said
"Straight from the devs them selves",So here on Gtplantet, Wishful speculation rules out factual reality with evidence.

I thought that all Japanese cars, run with there headlights on all the time. The Subaru we own, runs with lights on.

Gamescon had an *incomplete* demo, nothing more. All of the cars in GT5 will have lit headlights during the night races anyway.

The headlights being on is real and I am impressed at how real they were able to model HIDs. Look at the close up picture and how it is slightly yellow at an angle but far away it looks white with a tint of blue. I just hope that it will actually light up the tracks/roads realistically in GT5 and not have it just to look pretty at night but with no lighting effect like they had in GT4.

yep i love the HIDS on my neon, they are very intense, 5000k, little bit blueish then stock HIDs, but i can see well at night, very well, all i see in front of me is a nice beam of blue whitish light. and a knife sharp cut off line off the walls and other car, im also running cyrstler 300c projector retrofit lens now.

But then again you have to remember that PD know how model headlight colors very well, just look at GT4, every car had a different headlight output, there was fogged over bronze, yellow, blue, HID, yellow foglights, performance white, off white, dingy old car white, and your standard halogen white and excettera, not in other games where all the car headlights are white... PGR and Grid as well as the midnight club series, NFSUnder cover being the most impressive HID look. but now that i see how PD did it, blows any other game i have ever seen away...
