So I've been really getting into NASCAR lobbys and really like simulation compared to the dirty racing. I get how important drafting is and I even got a buddy to Shake 'n' Bake with. But I have a problem in the turns.

Every turn I get bombarded with remarks to "Stop swerving!" and how I'm "all over the place."

Now from 3rd person I see the car and it feels like it's steady. I lightly tap the left stick because every time I hold it softly it goes to far in and I over-correct and cause a pile-up.

Does anyone have any other tips to make sure I'm steady?

Especially on the outside, I always fail up there without a doubt.

Thanks in advance!

I think I can help you out pal.

Try to manage throttle with the right stick which helps keep those 850 or so ponies under control with it's far superior sensitivity when compared to the classic X button, that keeps you from swerving all over the place, also another recommendation is all assists except ABS off (specially TCS and ASM),play on manual transmission as well (if you stay on 3rd gear in a turn it won't swerve as much),this in conjuction with the right stick,a little suspension tuning and delicate left stick control may help you avoid off course action and possibly collision. When I obtain my PS3 (pre-bought with GT5) I'll start organizing a weekly event that has changing themes (Nascar,GT500/GT300,Group C,JDM,WRC on Tarmac or Dirt, whatever sounds fun, etc.) and rules every weekend. If you happen to want to join:Friend me.

Those stupid corner bumps get me every time too... Run a 200 lapper, you will be smooth like butter by the time your done. If your not, give up and do something else.

I also find it difficult to have a line with the DS3. I have a wheel now and it really helps. I have friends that are great with a DS3 and I admire their skills. I think all you just need is to get a bunch of practice.

Another option may be to look into accessories to help with precision. These basically add to the height of your sticks. They also make two models for driving games. http://www.kontrolfreek.com/

Edit: Have you tried turning down the steering sensitivity? It is right below where you change your ABS setting.

I use sensitivity on 3 all the time and drive fine with whatever. No wonder all Nascars do is oval racing :p,however better throttle and gearing control (L2/R2 domination) is the key.

Whats wrong with steering sensitivity on 3 I keep my finger on the left stick and that's all.I usually keep torquey cars in 3rd gear or more when negotiating turns so as to not slip out.I do play GT5.

Let me figure this out.You said.

Do you have a PS3 or are you giving advise on a whim?

I do own a PS3 (yet I don't have it yet),but I'm not giving advice on a whim (I've been playing GT for years),I play GT5 on a regular basis on my brother's PS3 who also happens to have GT5 (I have full understanding of most if not everything within the game).

What? How do you own something but not have it yet?We all have been playing the GT series since it's inception. So when do you play, when your brother isn't? My head is spinning!💡

Uggghhhhhhh......You my friend don't understand.I play GT5 alot on my brother's PS3 because he usually doesn't use it much,he also isn't an online gamer,I am the one who beats most of the seasonals. As for my PS3 I live far the 🤬 away and I'm waiting for it to enter my country.

I use between -2 to 5 steering sensitivity on my DS2, from oval ( 2 to 4 ), drifting ( 3 to 5 ) or when going for a time attack ( -2 to 3 ), all depend on the car and tire. I have accurate gas and brake with circle/triangle ( 10% to 100% input in a whim ), this allows for high BB with no ABS too, DS2 rocks.

DS2???That means you have an older PS3.Sounds good but I'll stick with the DS3 (left stick and right stick FTW!).

Nope, I meant DS2 from PS2 connected to PS3 using USB adapter ( bought from computer shop - the one that can be used on PC as well, allowing DS2 for PC gameplay ), trust me, once you use it, even the face buttons can be used for accurate gas/brake, watch my no ABS vids linked on my sig to see how I drive with DS2.

I know that's what I'm trying to say pal (you must've misinterpreted it that's all ;)),didn't know that USB adapter part:dopey:.All my DS2s are old and used (The analog sticks can't stay put without my correction and are failing).
