Now that Daytona's been repaved and is as smooth as a baby's bottom, will GT5 be updated to reflect this change?

Probably not. The Daytona 500 is pretty crazy to watch right now though.

I wish they would but I doubt it.

Nope, we still have La Sarthe 2009

The main thing I want to happen to daytona is a 24 hour race for the road course. Of course though any improvements will be greatly appreciated towards PD

If PD updated Daytona because of the new surface, which still makes Nascar boring as hell, I'd be quite offended and so would be other people and GT5 Photographers wanting new areas...

Yeah I want this too... they should.

No, it won't be updated. The tracks are an iteration of the track at a particular moment in time, they were never meant to be implemented as real-time models.

FM3 still uses the 2003 Silverstone layout - a lot of people were very shocked when they played the 2010 evolution in F1:2010 :D

Nope.
It's just one oval track.
Though it's famous.
Look at the Circuit de la Sarthe, it still use the 2009 version.

That, Daytona prototypes, and a real GT series would be great. But I doubt we see a time change Daytona unless it's a purchasable disk.

I'd just like to see the proper bus stop chicane. I believe the Rolex series always used the shorter chicane and it appears that longer version of the chicane used in GT5 no longer exists. If you look closely, it looks like the shorter chicane is present in GT5 just blocked off by barriers.

The Laguna seca is still the old version from GT4, 2002-2004 ish?

Sure as hell looks like it, judging from the blatantly bad texture repetition and close to basic landscaping in the background.

1) As has been pointed out, the tracks aren't supposed to reflect up-to-the-moment changes. If a road-cleaning truck randomly explodes on the track, damaging the road surface, they aren't going to hastily patch the game to reflect that new damage, either. If some kid runs out and sprays graffiti across turn two, PD won't update for that, either.

2) I really don't want them updating it to smooth it out. The little bumps and undulations of track surfaces is part of their character, which would be wiped away by smoothing it all out. Racing around Daytona already bores me as it is, and if it was suddenly smooth it would probably put me straight to sleep.

Yeah, it's some of the lazy work DP did with the game, whereby they dumped some old content without updating it in the slightest. Turn 10 would never have gotten away with that.
