An notice for all members who use hybrids in our cruise rooms:

We have recently confirmed usage of illicitly modified game data in the online services of Gran Turismo 5, and the relevant accounts have now been banned from the service.

Hereafter, these Online ID's in question will no longer be able to access the online portion of Gran Turismo 5.

Please be aware that usage of illicitly modified game data and any mischievous conduct against other players using such data are strictly prohibited, and will be subject to penalties as soon as they are found.

We ask everyone for their continued understanding and support.

Even if you didn't make them, if Sony catches you using one, you will likely be banned.

Well this sucks. I just got my GT painted a super deep black and now I can't use it. Thanks PD. the best thing to happen to your damn game since release day and now you're banning the accounts of people using them.

I honestly think they're just trying to scare us. No way they're going to ban almost 100,000 AT LEAST, people.
 
Question is how they plan to go about 'finding' them, are they writing new code (which means doing their job for once) or implementing something else ?

Of course they will. I don't see why they wouldn't.
 
I'm just wondering. If they are going to ban "mischievous conduct against other players using such data", would I get banned for... I dunno... Pulling someone over and ticketing them for using an illegally modified vehicle?
 
I hope they ban every single person that ever touched a hybrid from the Gran Turisimo series, including GT5 & GT6. Good job PD.
 
No more Challenger. It was good while it lasted, but I'm glad that they are doing something. Back to drag racing I shall go.
 
If Sony/PD were gonna do something they should've started when the civic came out. I honestly think they aren't going to do anything.

I think that they said that in a (failed) attempt to get people to remove their Hybrids from their Garages. Bet no one will though.

I don't know about you guys but I just deleted all my hybrids :( I'm really going to miss them but hey good things don't last forever right?

If I turn off the Internet on my PS3 and get on GT5, do you think I could delete my modded cars without getting banned? I'm on a short vacation so I can't get on the game and try anything.

I don't think you need to turn off your Internet. I deleted mine this morning with no problems at all.
 
I'm pretty sure I could make the Cars & Coffee tonight. Maybe it would be a good time to introduce a new division of the GTPD...
