HI, is anyone else playing this excellent game, great graphics & a freaky story & cool weapons.

Just leave you comments about what you think of it.
 
I heard it's very good, very scary at some times. :) I might pick it up after I finish FO3 and FC2. ;)
 
This game is AWESOME. I've seen excellent reviews and picked it up today and let me say it is a fantastic game! Creepy, bloody, excellent gameplay and the graphics are very very well done. Turn the lights off and get prepared to be on the edge of your seat!
 
Loved it, but gets to a point where its a bit easy. Even Impossible mode was pretty straightforward... Played through it 3 times in 5 days (twice on normal and once on Impossible) and had all the trophies.

That said, the first time through I was pretty much constantly going "OH MY GOD THATS AMAZING!" and was constantly entertained; if you love Resident Evil and the Alien films or Event Horizon you definitely HAVE to play it, well worth the extra money I paid for an imported copy to play it ahead of the UK release! Can't wait til RE5 now for more gameplay like that

Honestly, i think it ranks pretty high up in that category. You'll jump many many times, and will definitley be constantly scoping for anything that can kill you. It is a very very very good game, alot better/scarier than i ever expected. the creepiest part is the babies dude....
 
So i started playing it last night . I'm only on chapter 2 but this games really sucks you in right off the bat. I did get the gorgeous PS3 Exclusive Obsidian Pack well worth the $1.50. It makes the game easier from the start giving you the Obsidian Weapons. The Obsidian suit looks 10x better than the default suit. I mean i though the graphics were good before but this suit makes the game look even better. It looks better than the 360 color scheme imo. The game play is intense and i'll admit i jumped a few times already. I feel bad using the weapons so soon because it kinda takes the fear away for the second chapter. But i could not resist the beautiful Obsidian suit. It a good game so far and it will give you a scare. A good modern survial horror game. I stil like dark Sectors game play more.
 
The PS3 exclusive Obsidian suit is bad ass. The deep black and blue glow of the suit is way better than the default and 360 suit. I got it when it was free during the first week and saved it until I got Dead Space.

I think the scares have worn off on me. You can sense a scare coming ten miles away in this game. I think it will be the little things, the ambiance, the paranoia, that will become the real scares.

I'm cruising around on chapter 2 in the medical lab. Despite the Resident Evil find the key to open the door style of gameplay, it still seems refreshing to play.
 
I gotta give props to EA for the graphics in Dead Space. It definitely shows off the PS3 well. All games should lead with PS3, not the other way around.

I'm on chapter 4, the bridge. Almost done...
 
I was thinking the same thing/ This and Burnout look and run great thanks to lead platform. I've been so caught up in other games i haven't played this again, at the beginning of chapter 3.

If you didn't notice the black captin is the same actor that played the messenger in 300. Fully digitized into the game :).
 
I'm on chapter 5 now. The monsters are getting creepier and the scare factor has not worn off on me. Hey Fro I was checking out your trophies so I am assuming you upgraded the pulse rifle? I've been upgrading only the cutter for the trophy on my second play through. The pulse rifle seems less effecvin on some monsters. But thats what I've been using now to get that trophy you have there :). The ripper is a sick little weapon and I can see that being easy to get 30 kills with since it hurts multiple enemies.

This game is a must own. even when your done with it you can get a kick out watching someone else play and almost crap their pants. A Co- op Dead Space 2 would be a good idea. plus DLC chapters since it seems pretty easy to just make up quests with such a hugh ship in other section.
 
No, the only weapon I have upgraded is the plasma cutter. During the second and third chapters, the cutter ammo was getting scarce, so I switched to the pulse rifle. Those are the only two weapons I have right now. I don't see the need for the others.

I'm on chapter 5 as well. I didn't like that turret mini game level. I died more times on that than the whole game combined.
 
I did not like it either. there's zero aim assist but i did pass it the first try once i finally made it there with having a hard time with remembering to refill my oxygen. I have most of the weapons just to see them in action, no pay off i noticed saving money.

The Line Gun tears through every monster in its path, but not the stronger ones. its useless unless its upgraded. only good for the weaker monsters for an easy one hit kill unless upgraded. It came with the Obsidian pak so it made life easy early on.
 
the contact beam is some deadly stuff. powered up a bit the gun is a beast. Just go for charge and damage updgrades. I've played through the game a few times and on impossible mode it's really fun :)
 
Only thing i don't like about impossible mode is trying to get "one gun" on it. Its crazy and I'm about to give up and just use the Ripper and Line gun. Trying get both trophies is not fun. it takes so long just to cut off one tentacle off the Lurker. 3-4 shots on a maxed Cutter. I cant imagine the pain of killing the burnt skinned ones. I'll just do one gun on easy and finish impossible with the heavy damage pack. I'll take firepower over the Tank suit.

Still love the game but impossible mode makes you play differently. Its still my personal Game of the Year seeing its the only one besides Dark Sector that i actually finished.
 
I just finished it... finally!

The camera angles during the ending were really cool. I wished there were more of that during the game.

A certain character got slapped down by a gigantic space penis... how fitting. :lol:
 
I sucked it up and decided to keep playing in impossible with just the cutter. I'm on chapter 9 only 5 or 6 hours in. I have to keep using the stasis cheat because id rather use my cash on ammo then stasis. i'm not having mush trouble yet, flying through the game on impossible. The ASD trophies are too hard to waste time on them now, just want to finish the game and get my two golds.

Oh every time i see the the ending it still creeps me out
I love this game. But its keeping from playing Bioshock :(
 
Was Issac hallucinating or did he get killed by his GF hybrid space zombie monster thing?

Kendra needs more smack down from the gigantic space penis. It takes me an hour and a half to move that rock and you go and decide to move it back? More penis for you! Pwn, pwn, pwn!

I don't know about getting all the trophies. I'm pretty satisfied playing the game once.

I just have one trophy to get, the 50% on the ASD on Chapter 4, its hard, i quit after 10 tries because reloading is a pain.

I beat it on Impossible with just the cutter and it really does chance the way you play from Medium. I had very many low or virtually no ammo moments that i escaped from and impressed myself. Ah those trusty gravity panels and Bomb arm guys are great assets.

I love the game and i'm downloading Dead Space Down Fall from PSN rentals since my Block Buster does not even carry it.
 
I've been trying to beat it on the highest difficulty after i beat the easy mode... that wasn't the brightest idea. I can only say that I can't wait to get that achievement for beating it on the hardest difficulty.

Can't get my brother to play it though. what a chicken.
 
This game didn't really 'click' with me for some reason. I don't know why, I just couldn't get into it at all. I had it for about 2 weeks before I traded it in for something else. I might buy it again once it goes cheap though.
 
How long did you play it? I really enjoyed the game, the scare factor is the best I've seen topping even resident evil, Silent Hill1/2 and doom3.

I have all the trophies, the game is easy and the trophies are too.
 
Just started my play through of this. Started off on easy mode and only using the pc to just learn the game. Anything I should know about any bits of this game?
 
A few tips. to make it more easy to get all the trophies.

Since there is no chapter selection, its a good idea to save often. Keep at least a save from the start of each chapter, that will allow you to get straight back to a particular section, should you wish too.

There is a trophie for completing the game with just the plasma cutter. You could go for it on your first play thorugh on easy, although, its more fun to use all the weapons, and also there are trophies for 30 kills with each weapon. Its quite posibel to get the 1 gun trophie while doing the imposibel mode run.

You can also aim to do the 1 gun trophie on your second run on easy. (You will need to make a second run, if you want to get the maxed all out trophie)

Dont try to save nodes, by not open locked rooms. There is always stuff in the rooms worth more than the 10 K a node cost in the store.

Even when doing the 1 gun run, its a good idea to keep the contact beam in your inventory. You can own, it just dont fire it, or you wont get the 1 gun trophie. But if you have the contact beam with you you will get lots of ammo for it = more cash. Since the game only drop ammo for the weapons you are carrying with you.

I read you can only unlock Impossible if you beat medium or hard I started on medium. played it and got all possible trophies by chapter 4 in game 3. Then I did the hidden trophies ADS cannons, a pain.

I was going to do one gun one easy but since i knew the levels and monster spawns i sucked it up and did it on impossible, i think most people did it that way.

You only need to go through easy to unlock impossible mode.


I only have 2 stages left to finnish impossible mode.
