Please allow us to have our gauges turned on, similar to driving at night, but during the day time.

Reason being, I like driving in cockpit mode, having the HUD turned off allows me to enjoy this "driving simulator" better.

Problem is your shadows are way to dark, I can't see my gauges when their is a black shadow covering them 75% of the time on a 47 inch TV. I have to wait until sunlight goes through the right (or left) window.

if the gauges already turn on during night, then allow us to turn them on with the same button that controls the headlights. But you can keep the headlights disabled during day, just allow the gauges to come on.

If the car doesn't have gauges that turn on at night, then screw it. But what I'm asking is literal just changing a no, to a yes in the code. Although, if you allow any car then having a max PP limit would be acceptable. As many people complain about the game being to easy.

AI should also be greatly improved, having 16 cars with 1 AI is a bad idea. But having 4 that drive easy, 4 that drive medium, 4 that drive aggressive, and 4 that drive extremely well but non aggressive. That would add a better mix and greatly increase single player.

Create a variety of AI, if you have each driver your against named; then you can give them 1 of each of a certain amount of AI's; that they will use through out the entire games. That would allow us to be like "oh snap, it's Sean Penner!". But that can wait for Gt6. Thank you for each update you have done so far, but the AI still needs to be more aggressive for Gt5.

Maybe more.

Thank you
Ryan, fan of GT series since GT3.

PS

Consider having less restrictions if you aren't going to have very many races in A/B spec. As it is I can't just enjoy 1 car I enjoy and playing more than 4 or so races. If you would like to be extremely restricting, then just put in more races; using the same tracks.

I enjoy playing the game I want. If I want to restrict myself to only Vitz, then I can make that choice. But only have 9 races a class is way to few to have 75% require only 1 car for each course.

Thank you again.

That's all I gotta say.

Lots of people have this issue. I don't mean an issue with GT5, but an issue with dynamic contrast or simply poorly tuned TVs.

Hope they don't 'fix' it and destroy the graphics for those of us playing on better calibrated sets.

It's generally something that isn't fixable by the end user, at least without finding out how to get into some hidden "technician only" menu to attempt to figure out how to correct it. Apparently somewhere along the way TV manufacturers decided everybody wanted to have horrible over-contrasty pictures that obscured virtually everything darker than a floodlight.

Haha very true, but since PD is going to hire more workers then the future GT's will be better.

How do you know? Contrary to what you may believe,

VB: How many people made the first game?
KY: On the first one, there were seven to 15 people, at different times.

VB: And now?
KY: We have 140 staffers.

VB: What has changed?
KY: The difficulty of creating games hasn’t changed that much. It takes a lot of time to communicate with a team this large now. Before, you could wake up one morning and have a good idea. You could see it implemented in some form by the evening. Now, if you have a good idea, it may be two or three years later before you see the result. It’s because it takes so many more people to do it.

VB: How long does it take to make a game?
KY: This one has taken five years. Nothing is getting easier or less expensive. It does get easier if you are making a second version on the same platform, like the PS 3.

VB: Will you keep doing this until you get to Gran Turismo 10?
KY: (laughs) Not sure.

VB: Why do you keep doing it?
KY: Every time, it’s the same for me. I am usually pretty frustrated when a version comes out. Right after the release, I think we should have done this or should have done that. A game release is not a very happy time for me. When a new title comes out, I look to the next one to fix it.

VB: Sounds like you are a perfectionist.
KY: Yeah, I’m usually pretty angry after the release of the title.

VB: What will you do for Gran Turismo 6?
KY: Nothing is decided for that.

haha it means everybody thinks more people makes everything easier. You're wrong about this, so how many other guesses of yours are false? By "yours", I mean everybody. If it takes so long to do something, there will be less time allowed to refine anything.

AW: When did you make the first Gran Turismo?
KY: I started in the latter half of 1992.

AW: How hard was it to make that first game?
KY: It took five years. In those five years, we could not see the end. I would wake up at work, go to sleep at work. It was getting cold. so I knew it must be winter. I estimate I was home only four days a year.

AW: With advances in technology, is it easier to make video games now?
KY: It's more difficult now because it has become more complex. But the scale of the games has changed. The first one took seven people five years. If you were to try and do it today, it would take 10 times that many.

God sent a man on a mission.

I agree with the shadows and the AI but I'm not with ou on the naming of racers as much. I mean i don't mind them being named, but even in GT5 it came off a bit out of syle and is only really useful for picking B-Spec drivers. Even with that they know the name that people give them, so they could just say driver 1,2,3 or Bob 1,2,3 or just let you name them yourself. I do agree on the ai, as long as the ai aren't always appropriated with their relative cars. I have no problem if the idiot AI has a mini cooper while the master AI has a Zonda F, as long as thats not always the case. It should be able to properly demonstrate its strengths and weaknesses. A genious in an R35 skyline should be able to beat the idiot in the Zonda F who can't control it. By the way, if you start giving AI behaviour patterns like this, it almost comes off as an RPG. Ai behavior could be randomized based on characteristics related to a numerical value of how capable they are with dealing with certain situations. For example, cornering-, braking-, acceleration-, patience-, stability- and confidence-. Each of which with a numerical value that could be randomized to make different personality drivers with different strengths and weaknesses ( of course this is from the programing point of view, none of this is shown to the player except for maybe in B-spec with your own driver).

But even if they neglect everything else regarding the AI, could PD please fix one crucial thing. Can the other cars be more lax and not stick to the racing line like some life and death religion? Please!!!

Well Kaz nowadays races in real life, so at this point in time he doesn't care about his "dream"(remember how awesome prologue was?). What I mean is that when they release a GT for the PS4 it'll look even more amazing than GT5 and render all the textures faster than the PS3. PD will have more talent at their disposal to create future GT games, but I think the series will would evolve more if Kaz wasn't the CEO of PD since he ****s up priorities.

he means to be able to turn on the lights in the gauges like you can in the miura but only temporarily during the day idiot.

LOL I guess I'm not the only one that found his comment to be a knock at the OP. Who says his TV is poor...he shouldn't have to get a new one to just race a game.

Umm yeah. A driving simulation video game was unheard of when Kaz presented the idea. So you're wrong.

Not sure what I'm wrong about I was just playing around with another member so yeah...bravo at taking things out of context. Never knew you could be wrong when you're not being serious but GTP has alot of you types.

Yea, it sounded like you were saying his idea for a driving sim isn't anything special or original. As if anyone could do it. Sorry for being pissy. I'm tired, been dozing off, so I'm yugh right now.

No, it only means something when I talk to people like you. Full of hate and urine filled pampers.
So your a troll that doesn't like people that feel PD is starting to move forward...

I have an LG Scarlet; this tv cost 2800 when it was released 2.5 years ago.

I also bought a much newer, but slightly smaller 37 inch for my bedroom which was also nearly 1.5k brand new 6 months ago; it's screen looks exactly the same as my lg.
trust me, this is the only game where I have this problem. most games use a softer shadow; just not black. Or they use shades; where as this it's either bright as hell; or black as night.

But I will see if i can limit my colors; and no setting contrast lower and just making it brighter does not help. It's the game, no my tv. I know ton's of people are having this problem.

Most games don't do HDR lighting properly, they only "bloom" - GT does do it properly, although the settings aren't perfect. I have no issues on my PC monitor, which oddly enough have to comply with the full range spec, whereas TVs don't because of legacy requirements. What I'm trying to say is, the price or age of your TV is irrelevant, it doesn't have to support the full colour gamut.

If it doesn't (and most don't) then you need to adjust the setting in the PS3's system settings. No need to buy a new TV.
