Please, please release a patch for us, the early adopters. Or atleast give us some announcements when or if a patch for the updated cars and options will be available to us. I bought a PS3 when GT5P came out in December. I really hope to not shell out for another $40 for an additional Prologue of a different region. I know, the F1, Amuse S2k, Mines R34 GTR, Amemiya RX-7, argghhhh...this is killing me!

*dies*

Keep reaching!

yeah. i have very limited money on my USA bank account. now i'm back in brazil. so my money is counted, i cant spend more money on prologue, having bought the japanese version. i hope they give us an update

And to think I've been assuming, till I read this thread, that an update would come for us. I have noticed how much talk is going on about the US Prologue, like it's a whole new game. But still, I'd be shocked if we didn't get updated. Wouldn't there be a revolt in Japan?

It would be rude not to give an update!

There definably should be a patch, well, I really hope so for guys that won't but second copy. I do own the Japanese copy, but its faster for me to go to a store and get game right away and never worry about Downloading it 5 times because the other 4 times it field.

Most of us believe there is a 99% chance of the features and cars being updated. But, if you are expecting a Japanese to English language patch, all I can say is, "fat chance".

As well, what if....what if, online play is limited to the region of the "game", like MotorStorm? PAL can only race against PAL. Japanese version vs. Japanese versions. NA against NA.

All of these questions will be answered within a month.

I've most definitely gotten my money's worth out of the JPN version, and have no problems picking up the US version given the sheer amount of new features. Plus it'll be a nice little collection alongside of the full GT5 whenever it does come out. :)

Alternatively: wait.

Wait for GT5 proper to come out. That way, you save the $50 you'd spend on the NTSC/PAL version and you still get to use the cars you listed.

That's a whole year away...

Talk about punishing yourself.

btw...what exactly would GT5 "proper" be? You're insinuating Prologue is inferior and not worth purchasing. As if, it is no better than GTHD or the GT5P TGS demo.

Too many Brits and other folk across the pond toss that word "proper" around...

By "GT5 proper", I mean Gran Turismo 5. I'm not insinuating that Prologue is inferior and not worth your hard-earned, I just found that Gran Turismo 4 was all the more satisfying because I hadn't purchased the Prologue.

They are already charging $40 for the demo and you expect this??

:sly:

@Do you race?: You did not purchase GT4 prologue therefore you cannot say that GT4 "proper" would have been less satisfying if you had played prologue before it, now can you?

Just because I didn't purchase it doesn't mean I didn't play it. A friend of mine had it and I did a few laps here and there. Not many, but enough to know that GT4P wasn't worth it.

well, that's a matter of opinion

I got both the Korean and the Pal version and had loads of fun playing them - and the BMW demo with nurburgring - while waiting for GT4 (nearly a year, mind you)

I bought the Japanese version which i've had loads of play out of and have no problem with getting the EU version as well. For £17.99 it's worth it just for the F2007 :) let alone everything else like the High Speed Ring, more cars, 2 play split screen, quick tune etc. :)

Even if the Japanese game gets updated with the cars and tracks, I doubt it will have the European languages and car info...

Once it's on the Store, I'll get the EUR edition. Hopefully it has a better matchmaking system. I didn't get into a single race with the Japanese game. Damn 60:29000000 error.

Many of us are, for the most part, happily racing online every night.

Thanks for your reply 'Do you race?' ;) I hope you don't mind if I call you DYR for short?

Now that we have a thread made, I am sure PD will have NO choice but to listen to us internet people form overseas who got the version of the game that was not suppose to be on sale outside Japan.

Yeah, DYR's fine. I really don't know where it came from; I was about sixteen when I registered and it really means nothing now. Maybe I should ask if I can change it ...

Yes, I'm expecting a press release for the huge patch very soon, due in most part to this very thread.

I've had 4 months of fun play and can't wait to pick up the EU or maybe US copy.

All I need now is my very own Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Mug and I'm sweet. :)

I think (but then again it's just my opinion) that the JP game will get patched when the retail GT5P EU version comes out, so 27th march it is :)

Would be the logical step (or maybe 17th april if it doesn't happen with the EU version but the US one)

:)

Come to think of it, it kinda makes sense. As in EU gets their version on the 27th of March while US gets theirs on 17th April; both release dates fall on a Thursday; where the Japanese GT5:Prologue always get the online maintenance on Thursdays as well. Heres hoping.....

If PD launches a patch for our GT5P versions I will still buy the EU version, think about using the QTS with all the menus in Japanese.

True though there could be some of us out there who can interpret the Japanese menu for the QTS ; lucky me!

Does that mean you are volunteering your translation services for the greater good of the community :sly:

I found a very nice pic here that points towards an update

Good find. Guess it's got to be an update now then.
Time to earn 1mil again and then sell the entire contents of my garage
