Your right about the Celica, it is alot of fun to drive:). Right now i'm driving it
in the Super Taikyu race series and I can't beleave have much fun this car is
to drive:D, even if it does not have as much horsepower as your(only 283HP).
Maybe I will try the TRD Celica too, because it sounds like alot of fun right now.

I have no idea how long it is since I last drove a lap of GT4 in anger, but I thought I'd give this a go anyway. Luckily I had 2 cars in my garage that fitted the rules.

FWD - 1'26.265 Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6 24V '04 348HP somebody

RWD (PWR 3.525) - 1'24.433 FPV GT '04 424HP somebody

The Alfa would not be my first choice to take on Deep Forest as it didn't like the bumps no matter how I tuned the suspension. The FPV is still one of my favorites despite being a bit of a boat - it can be tuned for just about anything.

just wondering, since front and rear drive cars are in...can AWD cars have a go at it too!?!? cuz i wanna see wut some of them can do:dopey:

Hey Gang!

Took a GS Corvette:

1271 kg (minimum stage 3)
362 hp
3.513 kgs per hp
S2 Tires

T1 =26.800
T2 =57.695
Lap =1:21.371

Clean replay available....👍

Ok guys... Sorry I've been absent.
First off... :D
AWD is allowed under the same rule that allows FR.
I think the rule quoted is something like "any other drivetrain..."

Next on the agenda... An update for the board. 👍
Will be on the way this weekend (no work or school so that's the time!).

Finally, I ran a few cars this week, the "206 RC" FF lightweight with about 340hp and 950kg? The car was fun but not up to spec on lap times.
Also ran the Focus RS. :eek:
Couldn't properly handle the 420hp spec so I ran on stage 2 turbo with everything else. Tuned the settings just right over about 40-60miles... :drool:
Only 379HP in this thing and I still managed to go down to 1'21.069 on my first session post-tuning. With another day of running or even some tuning on the 420, I may be able to get mid 1'20s and not just break through the 1'21.000 barrier (which is my goal when I get a chance to play).

Any way, glad to see everyone is having fun.
Keep the times coming from all sorts of drivetrains. 👍
I'm actually trying to figure out just what it takes to make FF competitive. :dopey:

Btw, how would you guys feel about a FF ONLY race?
With the right track and rules it could be a ton of fun!

well, if it would be stock race, and rated by bhp.. 220bhp+ would have DC5 Integra and Focus RS, 200 bhp would have Golf V GTi, Primera 20v, Civic type R, olter ITR DC2, 180 bhp class would have Seat Ibiza FR, 206 RC.. you got the point, right?

Well actually, I don't get it. :p :lol:
Really though, I don't. In fact, I don't even see what your comment is in response to.
Feel free to discuss this more as I can tell you have an interest in comparing the various FFs.
And please understand I'm not confronting you, I'm really just asking for clarification because I'm confused about what you are saying. :D

:cheers:

I like the idea:tup:, and I drove the TRD Celica and it reminds me of the nomal
Celica, just plan fun to drive:D. And here are some new times.

1:20:734/Cilo Renault Sport V6 24V '00/318HP/AngelCreator
1:21:050/FPV F6 Tphoon '04/410HP/AngelCreator
1:22:470/Dome Zero '78/233HP/AngelCreator

And I have found that RWD cars with higher horsepower even if they have high
weight will go faster than any FF car, no matter how much horsepower it has.

it was a reply to your question about race that would be only for FF's. Thats why I suggested that all cars should be stock, and divided into different horsepower classes..

you should drink more coffee. ;)👍

Coffee? :odd:
If I was too blunt in my reply then it was simply a misunderstanding between the two of us.
I'm very forward with my responses- not the funny mod. :cool: :lol:
No offense meant. :cheers:

With that in mind... You'd like to see stock with hp classes? Interesting. 👍
I'd go with something like that as well but it would depend on the number of participants. :confused:

Any way, regarding this race...
Update coming today or tomorrow (weekend). Should be able to get atleast one time in for submission. Although I must say... I've got a funny feeling about this M3 I'm about to run. :trouble:
Back again soon,
Till then,
-

Btw, right now I'm in the mood for some LMP racing. FF is out for the moment, likewise, the M3's deepforest run will have to wait. :p

I'm not easily offended, so no harm done there.

And yes, sometimes stock races can be more interesting than races where all cars are race-prepped screamers.
Just for fun, maybe you could try the same what we did in Skyline Squadron recently: Finding best possible handling setup for a stock car with mere suspension/LSD tuning. Though, it would be pretty similar to the tuning competition that's running in the setup subforum.

let's say, just for a theory, that each two weeks, there would be a specific tuning theme, let's say LSD setup for example. You would decide a car ( Audi RS6 Avant for example), set up a goal ( stability during braking ) and participants should do their best to find suitable LSD settings in order to reach this goal. after that, jury would test the cars and tell which setup suits the car best.

just an idea, let me know what do you think of it.

Here´s my time after first 15 laps on this track. Car - VW Golf V Gti, with 352HP and 1135 kg, and of course my time - 1:26:244.
And one reply to Kent: I use on this track 206RC fully tuned and it was funny car but the time was poor just like you posted. But I was a little shocked because I thought with that power and weight it must doing great time.

Hey all,
Board updated to this post! :cheers:
I posted my Ford Focus lap despite not getting a few extra tries. :(
I also posted my most recent time... The M3 '04 was killer. 👍

Well good luck with your laps fellas.
Remember to keep your AWD, MR, FR, and RR cars on S2 tires and above 3.500.
Other than that, have fun!
Until next time,
-

Hey Kent, after seeing your M3 time I decided to have another go with my 350Z, this time with full mods :) Power: 344BHP Weight 1224KG PTW: 3.553 Here is my time

1'19.565 - Nissan 350Z Grand Turismo 4 Ltd Ed - 344BHP - East

I can post a replay if it's needed 👍

Well, I found one car in my garage that might have some potential. Somebody with some real driving talent could probably run 5 tenths faster easily, but here's my best:

Renault Clio Sport V6 24V (00)
322 hp @ 1134 kgs. = 3.522 kgs per hp
S2 Tires

T1 = 26.752
T2 = 56.646
Lap =1:19.592

Toyota Supra RZ (97)
357 hp @ 1253 kg. =3.514 kgs. per hp
S2 Tires

T1 = 26.800
T2 = 57.535
Lap =1:20.994

I expected more from the Supra....I'm doing something wrong with it. I'll try it again later.

Thanks Guys:tup:

well, when 300MPH club took SRT4 and started tuning, it got up to 270mph, if I recall right.. so yeah, it's fast with all that power. but was that done with S3's.. or R5's? :odd:

The time was done pre the rules(on S3's). On R5 tire I have done low 1'12's and did not use the gray pavement.

Took a few laps in the Elise 111R

Elise 111R 223 hp@782kg=3.508 kgs/hp
Stage 3 Weight reduction, S2 Tires

T1 = 27.054
T2 = 57.249
Lap =1:20.921

...Might have a few tenths left in it, maybe I'll try to extract them later.👎

i used a caterham and i got a time of 1.26.190 not bad for a car with 260 hp and
i did not cheat i had to change the pwr but other than that i thought i made a good time with tons of understreer.

Tried unsuccessfully to get a big MR car to work for me....I got more confused the more I drove it:crazy:

NSX-R Concept (01)
310 hp@1089 kgs =3.510 kgs/hp
S-2 Tires, Stage 3 weight reduction

T1 =27.176
T2 =57.147
Lap=1:20.143
