I think the advantage is removed if the total race distance exceeds 5 laps or something like that. Since I have noticed this in single races and short series races buton enduros it isnt there. Im really hoping this isnt in GT4.

Good point you, are probably right. It was only a short amateur race where I mentioned about the performance of the AI Oreca Viper.

Race Idiot
This happens in GT2 as well but sometimes to a lesser extent. Have you knoticed that when you stay in the pack , all the AI cars seem to become very competitive. When you get into first position and gain some lead over them, they seem to give up.

I had exactly the same feeling as you, but maybe it's because when you are in the pack your lap time increases because you have to pass and "force your way" through the other cars.

NoQuarter, does the power multiplyer vary from race to race in a series race even though your car is kept the same at all races ?

I think it's dependant on how much hp you bring to a series. I should have noted that this (AI Power multipliers) seems to be the case only for the shorter lap series.

I should also note that AI suffers no hp loss due to oil degradation in any series or Enduro.

I'm 95% sure that the opponent cars in the Professional Vitz series have a power multiplier. I pulled a save of a Pro Vitz race up in MK's Garage Editor because I wanted to see what mods those AI Pro Vitz cars had, and was a little disappointed to see that their performance comes from a power multiplier.

Also, I'm pretty sure that none of the 10-lapper, 20-lapper, or endurance races have any "rubber-banding" cheating going on. At least I've never seen it happen.

I don't know if any of you have played Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2", I presume many of you have. If there is any game that the Ai cheats in, its that game. I beat the game but lets just say, it was annoying. I had catch up off the whole time but it didn't matter how fast i would go or how much of a lead i would create or how many shortcuts i would take because by the end of the race...3 seconds behind me was second place. At points in some of the races i would be behind second place (particularly in the clk gtr races) and i would be on a straight going full throttle at top speed when all of a sudden the guy infront would mysteriously take off like a shot(not exsactly fair)!

Maybe its just you, because I manage to get away from the AI and stay away from the, easily.

I never really had a problem with NFSHP2. I could always grab the lead and hold onto it for the majority of the race. What irritates me is when your slowly pulling in an opponents car and then suddenly they jam on the brakes for absolutely no reason. You go screaming up the back of them you go flying about with reset disabled flashing at you while they drive off as if nothing happened and you drop back from 2nd to 6th and then have to claw your way up again.

Yes anyone can do that BUT what we are trying to say is lets say I am in the lead and 45 seconds ahead of everyone. On the next lap you are doing almost identical lap times and the AI is now 39 seconds behind me. He is in a VITZ and I am in one of them F1 cars. Now its up to you wether the Vitz is cheating or me and my F1 car is just slower then a snail.

Yeah, similar experiance here as well, kinda... just with qualifying times... 5 seconds faster than all, but I finish the race with a 1.7 sec gap... after 5 laps, with consist times for each... :P

I beat nfshp2 without too much pain im just saying the AI cheated, it would always catch up to me super fast ...As for gt3 the only race i had any trouble with was the vitz race but the way to beat them is to use middle hard to medium compound slicks cuz they pit and u never have too! try to stay first or at least trailing first and u will win every time!! but the AI was kinda gay in the vitz race!!

It is kinda wierd tho, ive tryed racing at the back of the pack on some 5 lap races with a car. The whole time i racing slow they race slow and then the last 1 1/2 laps i would speed up and take first, the computer dosn't know how to react. pretty goofy stuff!

Ill tell you guys what game had crazy AI , project gotham 2 on platinum, all the back markers would block you from getting to the front like no other and the front p[lace runner was really really quick!!
