Due to the crap install of my windows, it would appear that I can't use defrag :grumpy:

Can anyone suggest another one?

Thanks

Dunc.

XP makes much better use of how it allocates and repositions things when you install/uninstall programs.

I'm not saying it's completely uselss, but its far less effective on XP than it is on 98.

On advice from a friend, I am using O&O. Anyone have experience with this?

It still gets really messy though. Yes, it is better than Windows 98, but it still has a long way to go to get to where you don't really need to defrag it.

Uninstalling one or two things won't really fragment the drive, but if you start spring cleaning one day you will just about have to defrag it afterwards.

Kudos on the South Park reference. One of the funniest episodes they've done, in my opinion.

As for the the lack of defrag, I wouldn't worry about it. It's never seemed to make a difference on my XP system.
