Deleted scenes you're glad weren't included in the final cut?

Sid's Comeuppance from Toy Story.

So what we have here is a different version of the scene where Woody and the other toys confront Sid about what he had been doing to them. Woody's character is significantly different here, he's very lighthearted and a bit more conversational, a very far cry from what we got in the final. Interestingly enough, Buzz Lightyear chimes in here and we hear dialogue from another character as well, neither of which happened in the final. I could be wrong, but this scene feels like it goes on longer than the final as well.

I must admit, this scene isn't bad, if anything, this is one of the better deleted scenes I have posted here. However, I prefer Woody's much more aggressive stance in the final than this because Sid deserved every second of it, and going about it any other way just wouldn't be as satisfying.

Alternate beginning of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts


This Transformers film was originally going to start with Optimus Prime fighting Transit, killing him, and dumping his dead body in the Hudson River. I am glad that filmmakers cut this alternate beginning and replaced it with a new beginning where Maximals escaped Unicron and Scourge because filmmakers really didn't want this Optimus Prime to be like his Bayverse counterpart. Yep, killing Transit doesn't make Optimus Prime look heroic.

But in the film, Optimus Prime had a reason to kill Scourge because Scourge killed poor Bumblebee.

And another reason why I am glad that this alternate beginning was cut is that Transit in this alternate beginning doesn't make any sense since in the previous film, Bumblebee, he and his human friend, Charlie Watson, managed to stop Shatter and Dropkick from transmitting their messages to other Decepticons, so this explains why there are no Decepticons in Transformers Rise of the Beasts.

You think maybe you can put a spoiler on that? Because I hadn't seen the movie yet and I imagine others haven't either since it's fairly new. (sorry, I didn't think about this when I made the thread)

Optimus Prime punching Ratchet in Transformers Prime

In the "Stronger, Faster" episode, Optimus Prime was supposed to punch Ratchet in the face after he was blaming Optimus Prime for not fighting Megatron sooner and not saving Elita-One during the war on Cybertron. I am glad that this was cut because punching Ratchet would have ruined Optimus Prime's character and have made him lose his cool.

Having recently just started watching this show, including this episode, I agree. It would have been way too out of character for Optimus to do that and like you said, it would've ruined his character as well.

Huge Side Note: I love this show. I started watching it a few weeks ago and it's become my new favorite show now to the point I want to binge the whole show, something I never do. I am currently on Season 2 Episode 9, so please don't spoil anything that happened after that please.

"Shakes the Rattle" from Toy Story.

So this is a scene that shows a different version of the Combat Carl getting blown up from what we saw in the final, and Buzz Lightyear expresses a desire to teach Sid a lesson. However, an unnamed teething ring starts talking to the characters and warns them to stay away from Sid. Then he tells a story about a rattle by the name of Shakes, whom he once knew, that later came into Sid's possession, only to never be seen again. He then goes on to mention theories about his death, then claims that he was lucky and that there are things far worse than death there. From what I can find, it was cut from the film for being too scary and unsettling.

Why am I glad it was cut?
1. First off, while Sid taking his sister's doll is not surprising, the part of him giving it to Scud just bothers me a little too much and makes me kind of mad.
2. That dirty word the unnamed character says, while not the worst thing ever, is not appropriate for a movie like this.
3. Everything the unnamed character says is just way too dark and sinister in contrast to the rest of the movie.

To be fair, I read a comment somewhere that this is based on the script used for the Black Friday reel, which is meant to be a bit darker than what we got. While this does seem plausible and could explain why it contrasts so sharply to the final, I don't know if it's true or not. In comparison to the final though, it's completely out of place with how dark it is and has no business being in the movie. To their credit, it does probably provide a bit of context for why Woody freaked out so bad later on when he was taken to Sid's room, but at the end of the day, this scene is really not needed.
