I'm in the middle of emptying my photo library which is currently storing 8,000+ images. I'm running out of HDD space on my Playstation so they've got to go.

Has anyone tried deleting this many photos at once? How long will it take exactly before everything has been deleted?

Hold L1 and press X on every photo you want to delete, then, while still holding L1, click delete selected pictures.

I'll try that, this takes way too long to delete all at once. Been stalling for 40 minutes now. I guess I'll quit the game and chip away few sets at a time because this is ridiculous.

Delete paint chips you will most likely never use as well (i.e. yellow ones for me).

Why don't you just delete the game data and then just reinstall GT5 and the updates. This will remove all data like pictures, replay videos, custom tracks i believe and also the GT TV videos you may have downloaded.

I wouldn't recommend this because it takes FOREVER to re-download all of the updates again and believe me I've tried.

I would press L1 to select all pictures press delete and go to bed , then check it in the morning lol :D

Successfully deleted them all. I've freed up about 7 gigs at least.

Also got rid of some replays (except for the memorable races) and course creator tracks.
