He'll be back, they always come back!

Maybe he won't, but he was a great admin and member đź‘Ť, and I repect him for the quick leave, no point drawing it out.
 
Der Alta was a very good and highly respected member here, and best of luck to him in the future, people move on and have to give time to different things. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him even if he just pops in to say hi, I hope he does sometime anyway.
 
As others have already said, Der Alta will be sorely missed here. I consider him to be one of the most influential members in the site's history - I have no idea how I could have got along without him in many of the situations in the past few months. He's one of the most loyal and hardworking individuals I've ever met, and I think these same properties led him to over-extend himself. Thankfully for him, he has prioritized his life, and he will be all the better for it.

Sad to see him go.... I'll miss him. Hope his other projects come to fruition and bring him happiness. :)

He'll be back. Look what happened when M5Power tried leaving.

Yeah, real life has a way of interfering with the Internet life so much of us enjoy. ;)

Alex, you were one of my first and one of my best friends at GTP -- thank you for three years of fun and dedication, for helping me and everybody else here.

I'm sure (hope) that he will still be regulary around here, once a week or so... I don't think that somebody who spends several hours on GTP on each day for years stays away completly...
 
Another great member who'll get a mention in a "Do you remember..." thread in a few year's time, and I'll be proud to say "Yes! I remember Der Alta!" 'Tis unfortunate, but real life has to take priority, and he's doing something he enjoys, which is great.

Well as you could see it was a joke, but oh well.

Anyways shame that DA has left us. He's helped me out a few times and I'll miss his presence around here.
 
Well........it sucks.......can't imagine him not having a single hour ever again for this community, please let something hear from you DA:( BTW the last thread he closed was my thread:crazy::lol::banghead::lol:
 
der alta was one of if not the best/friendliest admins. i was banned from this place and it was actually pathetic how fast i was banned for doing what other people have done AND they also got UNBANNED numerous times.
oh well, der alta good luck, we need more admins like DA, i dont care what anyone says.

Yes, I am retired. My personal life dictated that I only had so much free time, and unfortunately GTP was the easiest of the portions to let go. Not that it was easy in any way, just the decision that was the easier of all that I had to make.
