Ok, this is not a joke or a prank.

DA is actually gone this time. He has kept his priorities in line and at this time he cannot devote the time and energy into GTP that it takes to be an admin. So he has decided to retire.

I can only hope it's temporary. Though I know that some members are happy about it...

You will be missed AO. :(

Ahhhh:guilty: That's real sad news, sorry to hear that:(
I really hope he let's us notify with this, cause I do really hope it's temporarily too......he's a great guy::indiff:

you always had a positive input the the board DA, come on back when you can

We lost a mod... :( Cya around DA aka the Parrot guy :D

[Edit]

Oh yea.... Even worse :( :indiff:

Damn. Lost one of the good ones.
You'll be missed man, ya always had the info when people needed it. We just lost one of the best resources GTPlanet Drifting had.
Good luck to you, and everything you do. Hope to see ya back again sometime.

When life calls, you have little choice but to answer--you can't hide from the world, and the stress it puts out, nor can you successfully evade its wrath (for lack of a better word). Although DA will be gone, maybe it's good for him, he'll have the chance to better himself in the world.

Goodbye DA, good luck with whatever your focusing on now.

👍:(

hrm, i suspected this might have been coming some time sooner or later. He was always so busy when he came online. Good for him though to move on and deal with the larer things in life.

Like Swift, I do hope this is only a temporary step from power. He did a great job at what he did here, and was a great guy if you caught him in good spirits.

We'll miss you AO. Thanks for the premium. :sly:
Be sure to still come on AIM now and then, dont go AWOL like SD has. I'll keep an eye out for you.
👍

Luck!

DA you will be truly missed. Your moderation was always done in the most respectful manner.

I noticed deralta.net is also down. I certainly hope all is well. Hope to hear from you soon.

DA, you've always been very supportive of the drifting scene, and I'm sad to hear you're going. I haven't been very active on the forums lately but I've had my eye on them anyway, and couldn't pass this thread up without paying my dues. My hat goes off to you, your legacy will live on!

offtopic:

wtf....
lose a good one and a gt3 veteran makes his return?
indeed, whats the scoop pergs? you making a comeback tour?

nitro_2005
i hope he stays on to be a normal member like us. it just wouldn't be the same without him!

This is very true.

Good luck Der Alta,

As perg said you've always been very supportive of the drifting forum especially since the dark days of GT3. Take care its difficult to visit the forum as a member I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a moderator, we all have lives outside of GTP and they do intervene from time to time. The fact that all the veteran drifters have come and paid their respects speaks volumes about the impact you've had

Come back when you can

Sorry for the off-topic...

Afraid not :(

I was a bit disappointed by GT4. They actually managed to make the AI worse. The only thing it's any good at is ramming and recovering from being rammed. The physics are admitably a lot better, but the road feel is gone. Perhaps I'm just having trouble finding settings that I enjoy. I basically just stick to the rallies, and keep the drifting to the real streets where the only bugs are the ones that hit my windshield. :) I'm flattered that I'm still remembered, miss ya guys but I'm pretty busy lately.

perg, you will always be remembered by the gt3 drift vets, just as DA will be.
have you tried any settings from the depot?

I know Der Alta just hosted a competition.,, But couldn't he host one more to announce his retirement...that would be awesome

Farewell Der Alta

In the past two weeks, I've not even had a chance to stop in. Literally, I've been running non-stop since I retired.

I won't get much of a chance to stop back in, but I did want to note to all you guys, a very heartfelt thank you. I'm glad to have met most of you, and I am really glad that this forum is in the hands that it is.

You've all given me some great memories and I will remember them for quite some time.

Thanks again guys.

Till later,

AO out.
