Cyriak is a legend, not only are his animations superb but he knows his stuff, have you seen his video about the pen throwing?

Well he just ridiculed all of these theories so...
This show is gonna be immense ;)

Wow! So... either he did all of the stuff with the groups or he fixed the lottery (which is highly illegal)
Fantastic show! And now I'm waiting for the impending argument/debate on here LD

Well, we got one thing right - he didn't explain how he did it, just showed us how he wants us to think he did it.... shame he didn't tell his helpers what numbers they supposedly predicted, hence they knew as much about the 'prediction' as we did. Nice illusion, shame about the explanation...

He could have split screened it still, but what a fantastic show. The 'deep maths' I believe was the misdirection, it's boarder line believable and thus people choose to believe it. But who ha, great show.

Yep, I can't wait for next weeks
I hope it actually works for us at home; the not being able to get out the seat thing :D

I think what we all just watched was misdirection, It was him planting the suggestion in ours minds that that was how he really did it (with that group of people) and made it seem so real that we don't doubt it. I love the bit at the end where he also plants the idea that he might have actually rigged the lottery!... which you never know.

It really is easy to manipulate people so knowing there was no way of manipulating the machine he just manipulated us in this reveal show, quite clever.

It might be like next week where if he puts the idea in your head to not get up your will power will keep you there because you want to believe it will work.

Having said all this im sure people have had instances in their lives where they have willed something to happen so much that it has actually occured putting some truth in all this I guess which opens the whole debate about a higher being.

Robin.

All in all, I think it's great entertainment and will no doubt create more revenue for Channel 4 and Derren Brown than actually winning the lottery.

I loved the way he dropped the lottery fixing at the end, just when you think it's all over he starts a whole new game.

It seems to work for a lot of the outragous shots I play in a tennis match
DB is a very, very good entertainer 👍

Must have been me when I was an over enthusiastic 10 year old Schumacher fan who broke Hakkinen's car then. :sly:

But that show was a load of BS really, I just hope when he retires he reveals how he really done the trick.

And I was sat there ranting that the young lad hadn't been given a tetanus shot at all, and that he wouldn't choose cup 13...

I didn't move form my sofa.

I wasn't watching Derren though...

Our dog got stuck to the sofa after watching Derren Brown's film.

Illusion indeed, I don't mind Derren Brown but some of his stuff is quite obviously bollocks and as with everything on TV must be taken with a fist of salt.

"The BBC has a legal right to announce the lottery numbers before anyone else." - Well, considering it's live on the BBC you could be forgiven for thinking that may be the case. Perhaps that's Derren's next trick? It would be a whole lot more impressive.

That's one of Derren's specialties - misdirection.

It certainly is the case that the BBC have a legal right to announce the numbers before anyone else. If Derren shows the 6 numbers 10 seconds before the BBC do and they are the same numbers, Channel 4 and Camelot are in slightly dodgy legal ground. Derren's announced the 6 numbers before the BBC have...

Whether it's enough of a legal barrier to prevent an early reveal... who knows?

Absolutely, his banging on when he's doing his stuff is, like all illusionists, loaded with misdirection. All credit to him though, it's quite an art.

Put it this way, if he has resorted to camera tricks then he will have lost a very devoted fan :(

Oh dear...

If the below video is anything to go by this illusion is about as simple as it gets. It's obviously something along these lines as there was no studio audience in sight. Bit of a cheap illusion in my opinion, but I guess it had millions (of rather gullible people) fooled.

The fake camera shake and zoom (and there is a hell of a lot of it) is quite a clever and subtle way of subconciously lulling you into the impression that it's somewhat legitimate, and off the cuff. Although Brown encourages you to keep your eyes on the balls :snort: he has so much patter that your attention definately naturally drifts to him. He also goes through a list of things that back up his illusion as real, but never once mentions that it's not an illusion - the bit when he mentions he is 'doing nothing illegal' gives you the assumption that he definately wouldn't dare fool anybody with a simple camera trick. Finally don't you think it would have been far more effective had he put the balls in a different order in the tray.

If Brown's material is headed in this direction then for me he just ranks alongside illusionists like David Copperfield. 👎
