Ever think things are supposed to happen?

What if everything was preplaned and we made no choises? Say you know your goin to die so you try to avoid it by staying home out of harms way, then something happens in your home and you die because that is what was suposed to happen, you were supposed to stay home.

I dont really belive these things but Its fun to think about this stuff sometimes.

I would like to think that everything in my life happens by way of choice. But, what if every choice I made, every decision, every thought, was already made but I just don't realize it? I've changed my mind about things so many times each of my own accord, but what if this was how it was supposed to be?

Well, then you may as well just sit back and do nothing. Maybe that's what you are supposed to do. If your whole life is already made for you, just sit back and watch it fly by.

I can foresee the destiny of such a person - it is...

..a hobo.

Wow, that was freaky.

My life may or may not be pre-destined, but I'm not going to be hanging around doing nothing waiting for things to happen.

Why would you like to think that? Sure takes all the fun out of life (and any power you have).

Anyway, if you ask me, fate/destiny is a bunch of bullpuckey And if someone did take the time to write out everyone's fate, I sure hope they're coping well with their CTS. (Not the car!)

Well I do think everything is choice. I guess I just didn't word it correctly.

Oh crap, I just realized I misread what you said... sorry 'bout that. :O

this is kind of similar to that movie final destination(parts one and two)

so if everybody in the world gets together somehow, plans to all kill themselves at the same time, and really does...........that was foreseen a long time ago?

i think its BS

im not saying that the good lord upstairs doesnt have an influence, im just saying that i dont think everybodys life is planned to the letter.

I dont think the question of fate/luck can ever be answered, because we attempting to answer it from within the system. It's like Godel's Incompleteness theorem in math, which proves that any system will have infintiely many statements that cannot be answered from within it. As an example (which I stole form another site):
Consider a statement P which states "there is no proof of P". If P is true, there is no proof of it. If P is false, there is a proof that P is true, which is a contradiction. Therefore it cannot be determined within the system whether or not P is true.
So there a infinitely many of these questions in life, as in math, dealing with consciosness and the like. Just as mathemeticians must just ignore these statements, we too in life must also just live with the fact that some questions just can't be answered.
